Izzie was slinking about in the sunshine at the ma's place browsing through gardening magazines (drooling over pretty piccies of Peter Cundall) while listening to the radio. Normally we turn off the radio for "Bush Telegraph" but for some inexplicable reason, today was an exception. Just as well as they had an interview with Lisa Gerrard,Izzie's favorite singer of all time ever. What a most delightful surprise - having seen her in concert once but never heard an interview with her before - a most mysterious and shy Siren indeed
Couldn't help but giggle when she said that she'd often indulge in a bit of baking to get a break from composing and crawling around the computer like a reptile!

Here's some one who knew her mission in life a long long time ago. Just as well she did not meet Ivan Milat on those youthful hitch hiking adventures. And she's even a fan of symphonic frogs. Such an inspiration.

She doesn't appear until about half way through the audio of the program
Interview with the Celestial Serpent

Really must get our paws on a copy of that movie "The Insider" Liked it so much, went to see it twice at the movies. And the magnificent music was just the half of it.

Is the Izzie a fan of Russell Crowe? I am surprised. *g* It was one of his best performances in my opinion and deserved the Oscar more than his performance in Gladiator, which was OK, more flashy of course and he was more physically appealing as Maximus than in the role of Jeffrey Wigand.

The film also included Al Pacino, which was another attraction but even though he was one of my favourite actors of my youth, he was a bit too over the top in his performances in this movie and in a lot of his more recent roles.

Can't say that I remember much about the music though. Must rent the DVD and look and listen to it again.

Izzie thinks of Russell Crowe as being a twin of Shane Warne - a total tool and Aussie (Kiwi?) yobbo but damned good at his day job. So in spite of finding him to be a bit of a git - there's no denying that he's a damned good actor. For some reason - he sort of reminds us of Kenneth Branagh who most definitely was just perfect in the part of Gilderoy Lockhart. Russell Crowe would have done a pretty good job too. Seems to be also rather full of his own importance.

Never did see Gladiator but loved the music. Once again a certain serpent had her paws all over that particular soundtrack.
But Mr Crowe was certainly convincing as Jeff Wiegand. Who would want to be in those shoes?
Did you ever see "Thank you for smoking"? That was a scream. Similar message but a much more fun way of getting it across.
