Constant Vigilance

izmeinaThe Izzie slinks by for a quick peek in Cyberia after an hour or so slaving over a hot abacus. Had a very good day and amazingly managed to be up at 5.30am in order to arrive on time to chair this mornings' 7am meeting followed by an hour in the nearby park sitting under an old oak tree while watching kookaburras gobbling their morning munchies and black swans waddling by
Then it was off to Fremantle. Originally intended to stay only until mid afternoon before returning to the Lair to do a bit of gardening. But it was such a gorgeous day and the Iz ended up staying until sunset
But the astonishing thing was to make it to 10 days in a row without the grumps or the usual cranky hissy fits. Did feel the grumps coming on a couple of times today - being on buses or in the vicinity of squealing kids is usually in the danger zone. But managed to stay out of the swamp and remain in the present
Looks like the old "Constant Vigilance" mantra is working rather well at the present. But we better not overdo it. The crash may be coming any time soon.
But the Iz has also been sort of cheating. Beginning to suss out just what sort of things get the protective shields all weak and crumbly and have taken to sitting down for a cuppa or sneaking off into the darkness rather than just digging ourselves deeper into a hole. We guess it's the Izzie equivalent of counting to ten.
Tomorrow will be a good little serpent and be all domesticated doing stuff around the house before slinking off to start work at 3pm. Well - that's the theory anyway. Let's see if a snooze turns out to be more tempting
