Another wet and rainy day. No moonshine picnics for Izzie yet again. But at least the rain will keep the seeds and weeds happy.
Been pretty much in exile from Cyberia lately and most of our time here is spent catching up rather than squiggling or doing something useful

So so thinking that getting a bunch of rainwater tanks should have been much much higher on the Izzie agenda than just about anything else. Seems to have been the wettest winter in years and was not organized enough to take full advantage of it
The electricity bill arrived today and yet again it's an average of two units per day. Most of that is probably the 1950s fridge which was turned off earlier today in an attempt to defrost the little critter.

The weekend weather was gorgeous and took advantage of the opportunity to plant two new trees. So so wanted to get our paws on that pecan tree before it becomes seriously spring time. But had no luck lately with any of the nurseries and made do with a mandarin and kaffir lime instead.
After slinking in Cyberia and reading various library books, came to the conclusion that a walnut tree will never be happy in this part of the world. It's simply not cold enough. Pecans do much better here. Did have one once but it died. But these days, gotten a bit better with the watering and TLC. Drip irrigation was the trick in turning the Izzie desert into a bit of an oasis

Knew that rain was forecast for Monday so no excuses for procrastination were to be tolerated. Got the holes and the trees done and did a bit more tweeking around the garden. A most productive day indeed

This week is the finale of the Kings Park Wildflower Festival including the big event - the plant sale. An opportunity to get all sorts of wierd and wonderful weeds, including an attempt to find the ones gotten many moons ago and murdered most foully by Vernon on one of his unsolicited visits trying to restore his version of order to the Izzie jungle. These days - have gotten in the habit of keeping the tags of all plants and squiggling stuff in a little green garden journal.

Did manage to visit the Egyptian exhibition at the art gallery. Well worth a second visit - even at twenty silver sickles a time. Will pick later in the day when there's less chance of hordes of school kids squealing and squawking. Enough to make a mummy turn in its grave.

Next item on the agenda is not so much fun. The nasty tax return for the goblins. Not to mention the last will and testament of the serpent which should have been signed and sealed before stepping on that plane to Amsterdam this time last year. Such a slacker is the Izzie
