Seven Years Slinking

Izzie's slinking about in Cyberia while peeking out the window at a very pretty yellow crescent moon. Seems hard to believe that it's six years ago we first slinked into livejournal land and seven since our first serpent incarnation. So today was time to celebrate. Such a gorgeous day. Warm, sunny and breezy. A bit hot but nothing like the icky sticky hot and humid 37 celsius predicted. Got that last year and it was truly awful. Certainly saps the slink out of a serpent

It's been a week of sunsets, fireworks and assorted celebrations. Spent five magical hours at the Izzie's special spot in the Garden of Arcane Delights. It's now an arts centre but used to be a lunatic asylum and is seriously spooky and gothic. It also has a reputation for being much cooler than the surrounding areas. Even the swimming pool next door is a lot hotter

As well as a picnic and a lot of pretty toys to play with and annual rituals to observe, there was lots of time for lounging about and being all relaxed and comfortable. Part of that is due to the influence of a new year's resolution that the Izzie has not yet got around to posting about yet. Along with a certain meme from the Queen of Cats where it sort of surfaced from

Instead of pottering off to the shops to get stuff for the picnic and invariably getting more than necessary - shopping when hungry is a seriously bad bad idea - simply brought stuff from the Lair. The only thing to get on the day was the bottle of red.

So that was an extra hour available for lurking and lounging in the lunatic asylum. Did go to a cheapie shop to buy two diaries for 2009. The Izzie tradition is either to get them at Cottesloe on New Years' Eve or to wait until 2nd January. One is the little red book to keep track of all the serpent's silver sickles and the other is the black book for to do lists, notes, ideas and stuff.
It's important to get them before the Izzie picnic as that is the place for the changing of the guard where the still relevant bits and pieces get transferred from the old diaries to the new ones. Along with watching the last sunset of the year at the beach, it's sort of the official transition between years
And then of course, there's the little green book.
Only realized later in the day that silly Izzie had totally forgotten about the new book especially acquired for today with a green silk cover and pretty leaf pattern. The cover is removable so it is possible to use it again and again. Would be a bit of a waste otherwise. Instead brought another spiral notebook but had totally forgotten that we'd been using it as a tarot journal and pattern book.
But maybe that's supposed to be a sign. All sorts of strange things have been happening lately and all seemingly pointing in one direction

Izzie's on the trail of something. Just found two most interesting books that look like a serious source of clues. Now it's just a case of reading, sniffing and snooping. And of course - not procrastinating
And as usual - the Cat has something to do with it. She has so so corrupted this innocent unsuspecting serpent

Big hissy thanksssssss
