No Love Lost
Seriously. So much WINNING?

"China's number 1. Just so you understand. China is number 1 by a lot. They are way ahead of us in terms of death. It is not even close. You know it, I know it, they know it."
Today I got seriously sucked into the black hole that is trumpland when I followed a twitter thread with excerpts from the latest crazy coronavirus hate rally. Watching that wanker is worse than dancing with a dozen Dementors.
Aaron Rupar watches the whole show so I don't have to and tweets the trump nuggets of wisdom
"Unfortunately, some partisan voices are trying to politicize the issue of testing, which they shouldn't be doing. Because I inherited broken junk" -- Trump absurdly tries to blame Obama for his administration's failures developing a test for a virus that didn't exist until 2019"
Meanwhile, back in Dursleyville, it has been a quiet and uneventful day. Lurked around the Lair and listened to the radio.
The Radio National Music Show had an interesting interview about the BEATLES. Scary to think that some of their music is now 60 years old.
It is now a week since I did the dining room table and fridge blitz. It is strange having a bunch of surfaces empty most of the time looking like Marie Kondo waved her magic wand over them.
Of course there are still the bags of the stuff that was on the table top lying around still to be sorted. But I figured that the most important thing is to get used to the idea of all that lovely ope space, to get in the habit of keeping that way and then slowly and steadily sorting out the stuff that accumulated in the first place
I still cannot believe that it is now 4 weeks since the shut down of pubs and hotels and cafes and restaurants going to take away only. It feels more like 4 months. I think it is the disappearance of rituals and structure as one by one all the serpent lurking grounds and day jobs just went into shutdown. Not just the jobs and cafes but the book clubs and Toastmasters too. They have all gone over to virtual meetings using Zoom. But aside from being a bit of a Luddite, I have my suspicions about Zoom. To me, it is the new Facebook and a giant black hole that sucks in data.
Dreamwidth, Duolingo and Twitter are pretty much the only remaining social connections left from my BC life.
But in the meantime, I have now acquired the new habit or rather resurrected an old one of drinking tea in a china cup. I have taken to doing this sitting at a garden table with either a newspaper or a book.
I might even get time to properly sort out the stash since no new ones are now coming in.
