March Madness
This serpent is slowly slinking back to Cyberia with little baby steps.
On Saturday it was 4 years since Petunia departed this mortal coil. Unlike last year, this time it was a bit cooler than 40 celsius so I was able to have a proper graveyard picnic.
It turns out that The F@#$% Grinch had been there too and left his calling card. About a dozen frangipani flowers. I could not help but think of President Snow from The Hunger Games and his obsession with white roses.
A bit rich from the jerk who made the last years of her life a living hell and never missed a chance to cut down every tree in sight.
It seems like centuries ago but only yesterday at the same time. So so strange.
So now I have gotten past the worst of the summer weather and an assortment of anniversaries along with sunset being around 6.30pm at the moment, I might find it easier to lurk a bit more in Dreamwidth Land rather than being confined mainly to Twitter which required a much shorter attention span and is much more Tweet Stone friendly than the DW site.
I also cannot believe that it is just short of 4 weeks since the Prince of Polonium Tea parties unleashed his rage on Ukraine. Even more amazing how they are still hanging in there in spite of being outnumbered. But I guess when your motive is survival rather than not pissing off a very capricious Capo at your very dodgy day job, it counts for quite a lot.
Putin could have learnt that lesson from the Viet Cong who managed to outwit all the military might of Uncle Sam.
It's just shocking how after 75 years of proclaiming "Never Again", this creep can single handedly destroy the lives of so many people and there is not one single person in Russia able to stop him.
Many of the soldiers doing his dirty work are conscripts who are taking out their rage on the people of the country they have invaded rather than the bastard who sent them there in the first place.
Centuries old cities and the people in them have been wiped off the map and soon Russia itself well go back to the 'good old days' of endless queues for basics like bread and sugar.
God help anyone trying to get spare parts for cars, tech or other machinery.
I so so hope that Putin gets an invitation to a tea party that he cannot refuse.

The Crawling Chaos
There were a few drops of rain just now which cleared the air and it is supposed to be raining for the next five days. After the events over east during the last few weeks, I keep thinking - be careful what you wish for.
But it is crazy so late in the year to walk on grass and hear it crunch like cornflakes or to feel the heat radiating off the roads, walls and driveways.
I remember when I moved into my first flat after coming to Oz only to find cockroaches scurrying everywhere. They had somehow sneakily stayed hidden when I was flat hunting. In the ancient days when it was a renters' market.
Aside from the ghastly smelling stink bombs, all you have to do is make your place less desirable than next door. But that is a lot easier said than done when everywhere is flooded and your joint becomes extra interesting due to being on higher ground.
It is hard when you have to choose between mold and critters. There was an interesting story about mould this morning on RN Life Matters. I think it was directly in response to what has happened to all those houses after the floods.
It was a very common problem in Britain and Ireland. Very depressing and nasty stuff.
I heard a creepy phrase the other day - concerning war. The Samson strategy - If it looks like you are going to lose, go out with a bang and bring the house down.
Just the sort of thing that egomaniac Putin would do.
I would pay very close attention to the accusations he makes against Ukraine.
George Soros/ Hunter Biden funded Biolabs in Ukraine are all over Twitter and Fox News too I suspect.
It's like GWB and Weapons of Mass Destruction all over again.
What he accuses others of, he is definitely doing himself. Also like in Syria, one of the main triggers for using chemical weapons is to compensate for a shortage of soldiers.
But to have all those dodgy old Soviet nuclear reactors sitting around in Ukraine is just so scary. They are like sitting ducks.
I guess Putin thought his Blitzkrieg would be over in 4 days. Hopefully every extra day it drags on is one more teabag in Putin's pot.
God knows what the next 4 weeks will bring. I guess we will have the dreaded election date by then.
