David Rowe has a way of scaring the hell out people with his uncanny cartoons. I was in the middle of posting this entry when it just completely disappeared. I tried opening it in another tab but in spite of so called autosave, there is simply no trace of it to be found anywhere. Just another day dealing with those damned Dementors who have made themselves at home for nearly 3 months now and appear to have no plans to pack their bags any time soon.




Since CBT spells and foolish wand waving now no longer work, I am finally resorting to the nuclear option. Or maybe more correctly - the Novichok option. Lexam - also known as Escitalopram oxalate. The doctor prescribed it yesterday. She told me to take half a pill a day for 3 days to check for side effects and then go on to 1 per day. According to Dr Google (- or rather Doctor Duck Duck Go because Google is a total no no for searching medical stuff of any sort - God knows which insurance companies they sell it to) the main side effect is erectile dysfunction. I think I can live with that! I suspect though it's the usual case of drug companies of only ever signing up men for clinical trials.


Being stuck for 3 months in the red and orange zone is bad enough in itself but on the heels of 2 whole months of green and yellow goodness, the contrast is just too much and I want to get those green days back. Duolingo has actually turned out to be an excellent barometer to measure the mental state of this serpent. I have gone from breezing through 700 XP blitzes in the tree tops down to a pissy 250 per week in Spanish storyland. With the very occasional Dutch or Russian revision lesson tossed in for variety. I am such a slacker.

I am also barely able to remember how to do stuff on Dreamwidth.  My second attempt writing this post seems to have gotten stuck in HTML mode so I cannot fix the title for cut text, the spacing vanished and I forgot how to fix a whole bunch of stuff
