40 Degrees in Albany!!! The world is definitely going to hell in a hand basket.
I figured that if you can't beat them then join them. Within days of returning from that grand overseas adventure I was planting basil and tomatoes. The basil got sizzled but the tomato seeds are now nice big fat plants ready and waiting to get their first flowers.
I have even found a source of fresh turmeric so went and planted that too. In the old days it used to be the wrong time of the year but now anything can happen.
I have been a psycho serpent since the storm started brewing Friday afternoon and only now is the doom and gloom slowly wearing off. It's so annoying especially as the "Less is more" (http://www.lessismorefestival.org.au/) festival was so interesting. It had your name written all over it. There were so many fascinating workshops and guest speakers but this serpent was too psycho, irritable and agitated to be able to enjoy them all. Even the talk on mindfulness did not help. I was just totally troppo. But I will definitely be adopting the ideas presented in the 'Breaking bad habits' workshop. There is a lot to be said for routine and ritual for managing those days when the brain is all sizzled and frazzled and beyond rhyme or reason.
Here's guessing that there's lots of greenie tree huggers down in Albany. It must be like another world. But by the sound of that weather, maybe those days are over.
