Educational Decree No 66
01/07/2003 11:14 pmHem Hem. Sorry to disappoint... could not resist such a Delorean temptation. Due to unforseen circumstances we will just have to make do with a report from the Ministry of Publications
Izzie just had to lurk in the bookshops today. Imagine my delight and surprise to see Harry hogging 6 spots in the top 10! Six you ask.. there is only 5 books?
Well No 1 was Order of the Phoenix, 2,3 and 4 were Goblet, Azkaban and Philosopher's stone. No 9 was Chamber of Secrets and No 6 was Order of the Phoenix (adult cover version) which was sold out. I walked by 30 mins later only to discover that the Children's cover had also acquired sold out status.
Simply astonishing and amazing. Must relay this piece of priceless trivia to my muggle parents (also known as Vernon and Petunia) who utterly detest and despise the Potter boy in any of his incarnations.
They like the real Dursleys were also suspicious at Izzie's sudden interest in the Muggle News for the period of time around 21 June 2003
They were ever so embarassed and disgusted when Izzie declares that she was out there in the queues to get her slinky paws on the first copies. And worst of all... to do this at the dinner table with visitors present!
But one thing Iz just loves about the new book is all the wonderful new vocabulary. A veritable treasure trove of fun and fascinating new words. I have lost no time in making use of them. "There is no good and evil. There is only power....."
