Iz is feeling dopy and grumpy. The nasty netcafe started to do strange things to my user name when I moved from one computer to another. ie claiming that I was already logged in. They finally sorted out the problem and gave Iz 2 hours extra to make up for it even though I would have lost only about 15 mins
Would be grateful for helpful hints concerning web pages. After spending 6 hours or so farting around and experimenting, Izzie is an absolute green newbie in the world of HTML and is amazed at how little shows up on a screen as a result of lines and lines of tedious typing. Frontpage is beginning to look not so bad after all;)
I got some green background and frames looking just like I wanted but with 'Forbidden' written in each of them. Of course the final background will be not green at all or rather some sort of white or pale beige with about two drops of the green ink...just enough to suggest the itsiest bitsiest tiniest trace of green. Oh and what would folks think of using font colour 003300 instead of black for text?
One thing I did love is the snaky green button I found snooping at Google.

Obviously I have not got around yet to linking the 'Oh oh! It's the boss' to an evil Izzie webfile. But with time and patience a mulberry leaf can become a silk gown.

So Iz has decided that I will have version one and two. Version one for the October 17 deadline day in co-operation with the Evil Empire. And version two will be for the interesting creatures. It will be a DIY Izzie notepad version.
Many of the webdesigners hate Microsoft for the nasty habit of making absolutely no allowance for folks with speech conversion/ no images/ text only or whatever browsers and advise HTML to be written in such a way that it can appear in a useable version on as many browsers as possible.
Iz intends to download Mozilla at the Dursley's house when I am there Sunday evening. Will be most interesting to see just what Frontpage stuff looks like then.
One of the webdesign books is just so so hilarious. Iz loved the description of the HTML Hotdogs with Everything on it.. simply because they can! She has a list of about 15 of these absolute no nos and they turn out to be exactly the sort of thing that annoy the hell out of Iz too.
Of course that is not the sort of stuff that is approved of in "Auntie Rebecca's Web Charm School" Her name is Rebecca Rohan or maybe Rehan. It is an old book by internet standards but down to earth and ever so entertaining.
I guess it is out of print. Pity.
Well the whole thing is tedious but also fun in a way. A bit like mixing up a potion and then tasting it to find out if one got the result intended.
