With King George in the White House, today's satires are often tomorrow's policies.

Lately Izzie has been feeling bitchy cranky and grumpy. The Martians have invaded my brain. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

One of Izzie's particular pet hates are the dreaded GROUP PROJECTS. This week is a Goblin free week. We agreed to meet in a certain computer lab at 3pm on Tuesday which normally would not be a good time for me as I usually have that boring "Professor Binns" from 2.30 to 5.30
I really was tempted to skip class the day of the full moon so that I could get to my favorite moon watching spot but I did the right thing and wondered why I bothered as he turned up late and a ten minute break in the middle ended up stretching to twenty minutes.
But Izzie is a good wannabee goblin and stayed. (At least I don't have any work or classes for the next two full moons on 11 September and 10 October)
I did get to see the moon coming up with only about 10 mins to spare but it was a mad rush and nowhere near as enjoyable as the usual moonlight rituals at Memorial Hill near St B where you have a 360 degree view of the ocean and the horizon.

Well, Tuesday turns out to be an unbelievably gorgeous day. Quite cold, crisp and crunchy with the sort of delicate sunlight that makes me think of all my favorite places. Silly me, thinking that we could not possibly go past 4pm or 4.30 at the latest, brings some choccies and the Potter in anticipation of a coffee down by one of the riverside cafes watching the sunset.
As far as I am concerned, group meetings are for discussing what has been done so far and allocating the next chunks of work and NOT for farting around adding 2 plus 2 or tedious typing or anything that can be done just as easily at home, emailed to each other or whatever.

Well, there I am in the computer room five minutes early hoping to get time to catch up with the interesting creatures, check the owl roost and download Mozilla onto H Drive. A quick look around and neither of the other two seem to be there or don't seem to notice that I am.
Thirty minutes later, I take another look around. I must confess that I am utterly hopeless at remembering faces and only met the other two members on the previous Friday. So apart from seeing if there is any Indian looking guys in the room and if any of them recognize me...it is just a matter of wait and see.
Well I did then see the pair of them. But they weren't yet interested in discussing the boring beyond belief topic of the role of accountants in assisting their clients into the world of e-commerce but rather into wondering why the snowflake java script background for the group home page consisted of cascading black bordered boxes.
They must have been fiddling with it for 50 mins or more when Iz joined them. As far as Iz is concerned Java is stuff you drink with milk and some squares of dark chocolate but I went and peeked at the web page and java script anyway.
They had been following the instructions, well most of them anyway but had not noticed the last lines where you are supposed to save the snowflake from where-ever to your OWN directory.
They were most astonished to discover fluffy grey falling snowflakes on Izzie's blank screen and wondered where the hell I got them from.
I then went and pasted the evil frontpage source code underneath and the assignment then appeared with snow and all. Luddite Iz of course was doing everything in notepad.
Just wait till we meet next time and Iz accidently ends up displaying her screen full of green snakeflakes! Actually, what I really want is cascades of currency $$$$$$$$$ floating all over the place but until I find a nice picture somewhere, will stay with the snakies. I must find some way of making them a bit less intrusive.

But basically, by the time we finally got to dividing up the work and stuff it was already 5.30pm. Way too late to go anywhere and certainly not to see the sunset. Most pissed off I was indeed. Today was overcast and cloudy so instead of going to St Brutus and the beach followed by a late night here at the Min of Fin, decided instead to go the Jaws sushi bar for happy hour. From 3.30-6pm Monday to Thursdays you get free smelly sock soup (miso) and 30% off all sushi.
But en route to the sushi bar was another important mission. The Priceline (cheap and cheerful cosmetics -confectionary drugstore sort of joint) Birthday sales is on for a week ending Friday and included in the specials were those very same Lindt 100g dark choccie bars I had mentioned the other week. But this time for the ultra unbelievably low price of $$2.30
And Iz thought 2.50 for the normal ones was pretty good but this special included the 85% bars too. Bad evil greedy Iz bought all nine of them! That is nearly one whole KILO of rich thick and very fattening chocolate.

Oh and the goblins get more evil. Mozilla did not fit so I had to zap it. Then remembered that Netscape composer is sort of similar. Internet Explorer is on the main page when you log in but you have to click through about 3 links to get to Netscape and be informed that it is not the preferred browser and there are ISSUES and don't you damn dare disturb the universe. You get asked several times "Are you sure" Pity I can't reply "You bloody bet I am"
Give them time and it will suffer the same fate as all others who opposed the dominion of the Dark Lord. ZZZZZZZZap.

Oh dear. I will NOT surrender. Oh how I would just love to dazzle them all with the simple serpentine elegance of my evil website and announce that it is a Frontpage Free Zone!
Maybe the odd subliminal -text same as background colour- message or two would be fun to throw in. MICROSOFT SUX (Damn - hardly anyone here in LJ has a white/ off white background)
The Cocytusian Cat has corrupted Iz beyond Redemption.
