The Goblins are getting VERY demanding so Iz gets to spend the evening typing tedious essays on strategic analysis and silly stuff about on line financial statements.
Was looking at the Westinghouse website...we have to pick a company and answer a whole pile of questions and Iz figures that a bunch of bozos that make (or at least supply the raw materials for) weapons of mass destruction would be rather entertaining considering that GB wants the world to forget that the USA have the biggest collection of all.

Was especially amused to see that they now appear to be some sort of subsidiary of the infinitely evil BNFL. One of the oldest and most well known American companies taken over by a sad bunch of incompetent British idiots..just seemed impossible.
Iz lived for years just across the water from one of their most prized projects. The Powerplant with 1000 names...began life as Windscale, then became Sellafield and after that Iz lost count. So strange how after Chernobyl....for some inexplicable mysterious reason, the levels of radiation, and fallout or whatever were higher in the Cumbrian countryside than in parts of Germany and Scandinavia. Of course, the fact that they had a nasty dirty nuke just up the road was pure COINCIDENCE.

And then...as if Iz did not already have enough of the glowing green light..off she goes to a little town on the Elbe whose main claim to fame lies in being the location of the oldest Nuclear Power station in Germany!
So...if Iz is a bit strange at times...well now you all know why;)

Well.....for some strange reason..while there were lots of links to public relations, mission statements and community contribution of this wonderfully enlightened corporation..there seemed to be not a bean to be seen. No financial statements, no reports to shareholders. Nothing. So looks like Iz will have to find another more boring company starting with the same letter.

Naja...well next stop was the the essay due on 14 October. Anyone got interesting gossip about the struggle between the penguin and the Micro$oft Monster for Iz?
Like in less than 3 sentences? There is just so much stuff out there to be found at the Oracle of Google. So hard not to suffer a severe attack of information overload.
I just find it amusing that not only would a squishy cuddly penguin go into combat with the evil empire and not only survive but gradually gain extra inches of ice.

Iz always returns to the eternal theme -Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Customers like Iz have very little choice at all but whether it is the Tax office, IE Content Advisor or the blue screen of death....Iz remembers who is nasty or nice for a long long time.
There is nothing more satisfying than seeing pompous arrogant lions being brought down to size by mice or itsie bitsie teenie weenie ants. (or preferably Serpents) Creatures they did not even bother to know about because of their supposed utter insignificance.

Well...not only has Iz been busy at the Ministry but even got around to doing some pottering in the Lair. There was weeds to plant and leaves to sweep and the joy of knowing that her very sad pathetic pecan tree is not dead after all. The itsie bitsie buds have finally become leaves and are gradually uncurling.
Best of all is pottering home on the broomstick, sitting out under the moonlit sky with a glass of red, some bread and cheese and soaking in the succulent and almost sickly fragrance of orange blossoms. Totally intoxicating stuff.

Mysti says she likes Autumn best. Iz loves both autumn and spring. The in-between seasons so to say. Would simply hate to live in a place without them. Hell would be a hot humid crowded place like Hong Kong. Autumn in Durmieland - "Goldener Oktober" That was just absolutely exquisite. It was definitely the most beautiful time of year there. The days were not too short and away from the beer festivals, there were not too many tourists. And the leaves....they were just so so delicate and colourful at that time of year.
And the best time of day - twilight..of any sort. Iz loves both sunrise and sunset and the delicate light that comes around those times. High noon on a midsummers day is positively boring in comparison.

So when Iz gets bags and bags of silver sickles, the perfect location of the lair would have to be some place on the south island of Middle Earth. There they have real autumn and spring, mountains and the sea and not too many Muggles. Magnificent. (And unlike some places that shall remain nameless - the Hobbits are nice to sheep)
Oh and the Middle Earth Government are one of the few decent civilized governments that dares to value some things higher than silver sickles. Oh..they were not always like that. In the eighties they sold of loads of stuff (like railway stations in the centre of town) even things they did not own but at least they seem to have LEARNED from their mistakes. Now that is what I call progress.

Never did make it to Queenstown or Milford Sound. Well not yet.
Oh yes....Fjords. Izzie likes fjords. Never seen one in real life but they are so pretty in the pictures.
Oh and a big thankyou to the Cocytusian Cat. Thanks for all the fish. They were truly delicious. Now I must go. There are a couple of catalogues that Iz needs to look at. (I wonder if I can convince the rats to pay for it all?)
