While on the subject of sick Nazi satire, Izzie has this offering

Had it lurking among the comments somewhere but it's too cute to keep quiet about. This just happens to be one of Izzie's favorite books ever. Pity there does not seem to be too many pages around in Cyberia. This guy has a very black but NOT sick sense of humour.

Izzie will be soon off on the broomstick to the lair to organize her green Christmas. Got myself a few of those cute green glass glitter balls today and some silver spiral tinsel. Bad Izzie - especially as I got all those decorations this year in January during the sales. Iz always does her Christmas shopping in January

Today at St Brutus was the annual Christmas Bazaar which was just the excuse I needed to stay late and lurk. Lots of beautiful arty farty crafty and very expensive stuff. Absolutely beautiful and most of it handmade but way beyond the Izzie budget.
Izzie has strange tastes and likes both the simple uncluttered elegance of Japanese art and gardens (and especially food) and the gaudy cluttered over the top - not a single centimetre of undecorated surface Fuddy duddy Victorian style stuff too. And there was oodles of that. Gold thread, beads, buttons, tinsel, tassels and any other ornamentation imaginable and some that even aren't.
There were lots of jumpers, hats and things made from hand spun wool or hand made felt and the usual candles, smells and bells. There were also jams, chutneys and pickles and local olive oil which is infinitely nicer and more expensive than that green greasy Italian stuff.

If Iz wasn't so lazy she too would make her own baubles to hang on the non existent Christmas tree. But unless you absolutely love doing crafty kind of stuff, it is very hard to justify the time spent on it as absolutely no one can compete with the Chinese on price. They are now even importing Chinese mohair teddy bears and mohair bears had always been the territory of the true artists. Now they are mass produced just like everything else.
Funny really - it is precisely the people on low wages who have to buy the Chinese stuff because everything else is so so expensive. I do so much prefer to support local cottage industries but the prices they charge are just way beyond decadent luxury level for ickle Iz.

This morning we had our last public speaking club meeting. Next week doesn't really count as it is the Christmas party meeting. Today's topic was "My favorite pet" and guess who Izzie chose?
One guy there who usuallly has a black and yellow umbrella and backpack to match has now got himself a new green and silver backpack. Oh God was Izzie drooooooling with envy. I wants it. So funny because he had it last week too and one of the other girls automatically assumed it was mine and was wondering why Izzie's bag was there but she wasn't. (He got to the meeting earlier than me) A good sign that is. Soon the evil Izzie imperial powers of persuasion will cause him to hand the Preciousssss over to its rightful owner (Especially as the shop where he got it does not have those particular colours any more)

Well - it's time to untangle the tinsel and the green stars, bells and spirals.
