Been for a bit of moon watching and tried a new spot or rather rediscovered an old one which is much nearer the lair and only one bus away.
Iz was indulging in some nostalgia today since this time last year was lurking in Auckland, having returned from the absolutely gorgeous One Tree Hill which is a 'war memorial' with a difference.
Was thinking that after seeing that place and the gorgeous arts centre in Christchurch near their beautiful botanical gardens that the usual Izzie moon watching war memorial and St Brutus would appear rather boring and tame in comparison.
It is true that the Middle Earth versions of both places are infinitely more beautiful but they are not exactly easily accessible and therefore don't have the memories, associations and connotations that the usual Izzie haunts have.
There is a lot to be said for getting well acquainted with one place and going there often rather than continually fluttering from one adventure to the next like a butterfly and getting to see things simply on the surface before moving on to the next bit of excitement.
Doing the same thing all the time though increases the danger of getting in a rut and becoming an inflexible creature of habit and routine. I guess a mixture of both is probably best.
Funny how certain times or places or even sorts of sunlight can conjure memories and in February there is lots of them. But unfortunately the full moon seems to have got to me. It is not helped by being tired but Iz for the last few days has felt frazzled, restless and agitated. It's not helped by the humid weather either.
Seemed to be running around like a headless chook with ants in its pants. I guess partly having to catch up on keeping goblins happy and shopping and that sort of stuff does not help.

I really do hope the Izzie nose is not so out of joint tomorrow. Will be dusting off the bottle of Wynns Cabernet and packing a proper picnic since I will be meeting Petunia at 6pm down at the river.
