13/03/2004 01:45 amIzzie sure does have a hissie fit of procrastination. Should be snuggled up in curly coils long long ago but just cannot help tweeking with the new decorationses. Now Naughty Iz is supposed to stay away from them and spend all Saturday before work away from the Min and reading nasty auditing questionses. Of course - was supposed to spend from 9-11 typing the stuff but there was the little matter of the power point presentation to be posted and well - one thing led to another. Well - I guess some poor guineau pig has got to test out the freebies.
Was not so late lurking yesterday. But first stop was yahoo mail. Iz always takes a quick glance at the yahoo news headlines and noticed there was something about 34 people killed at a train station in Madrid. Izzie immediately thought of a Gas explosion. It's like not Jerusalem or Baghdad we are talking about here. Around 11pm the number had been revised upwards to 60 something. By the time Iz left at Midnight and was very dopy and snoozie - was well over 100 people. Was only this morning turning on the radio that I heard the full extent of the carnage. The world is full of wankers.
And so so many people injured. They never seem to get mentioned in any of these tragedies. Some years ago some poor kid called Jandamarra O'Shane just running around in a play ground minding his own business when some lowlife rat for no reason threw petrol over him and set him on fire. The kid had very bad 3rd degree burns and had to wear one of those nasty space suit things for at least two years. So the first thing Iz thought when hearing of the Bali bombs - and especially all the fires - not so sure if there were many fires in Madrid was that there was 100 Jandamarras and they all had years and years of sheer hell ahead of them. And they and their families would have to suffer for so so long and so needlessly for an act that took probably 30 minutes. Well a lot more organization of course - but the slime bag who did all that not only boasted about his despicable deeds but spent his time smirking in front of the cameras - adding insult to injury.
It is so so hard to build and so easy to destroy.
There was a two year old killed here last week when he got caught up in a nasty incident of road rage. His parents and brothers actually seen it happen and will have to live with the awful memories for a long long time. And now another incident of people just minding their own business and being mown down by some bitter and twisted buggers yet again.
Then there was the little 17 year old that just got sentenced here for firebombing 3 Chinese restaurants last month. Luckily no one was killed or injured. The Chinese restaurant right next to this Izzie net cafe was firebombed in the '90s before Iz made this her lair. Where Iz was living then it was Turkish people who were getting firebombed. Also 17 year old shits were among the main culprits.
I guess when you live in a Graveyard, you can't weep for everyone. Izzie personally does not know any of these people in Madrid but did have a sister living in London at the time of the Kings Cross station fire. Even if you know they hardly ever take the train - you cannot help but wonder. There was a lot of worried people then. Now there are about 8 times as many dead - and of course all the injured - many who soon may join them.
But when you lurk in Cyberia and meet folks from all over the world - it is more than likely that at least one of them will be personally affected. So Izzie offers condolences and squishy hugs.
