The Black Hole of Cyberia
19/08/2004 08:52 pmJust a quick question. Izzie is ever so curioussss. Popped by Ujournal twice yesterday. Ujournal is Izzie's online nook for temporary storage of essays and stuff and good little Izzie wanted to get started on her Ethics in Business assignments.
But there was nothing to be found but white space and a Black Hole Today was no different. So Izzie is wondering is it gone forever. Maybe the elimination of LJ codes was the last nail in the UJ coffin.
Izzie is relieved that two months ago in a fit of procrastination, she went through the tedious procedure of rescuing the December 2002/ Jan 2003 stuff there along with all the tasty comments from the Hungarian Horntail and other associated Dragons, Serpents and Badgers but is a bit peeved that she got no emails or warnings of any variety that the green light might be on the way and therefore it would be advisable to take the necessary precautions to protect the Izzie Pensieve from obliteration.
Izzie is so so glad that she decided to confine most of her online ramblings to this place from last May or so. A big thanks to Mamaslyth who gave Iz the key to here in the first place and to the Cocytusian Cat for adding all the tasty bells and whistles.
Iz wonders just how safe Live Journal is from sliding down the gurgler into oblivion.
20 minutes later.....
Izzie has just consulted the Oracle of Google. Most interesting revelations indeed. Iz really must get over to the ma's place soon and install that new little archive gadget just in case. It's such a bummer not having a computer so that you can't do back ups and all the normal sensible things with your precioussss data.
