Ickle Izzie is in party mode. Just two hours ago, slinked off on the broomstick from the house elf job to start two wicked weeks of lazy decadence. Izzie now has holidays from her day job and does not return until 5pm on Saturday 25th of September. But there ain't just time for lounging about. There is those nasty green beans to worry about which are due to be handed in on the very last day of the Izzie hols. It's scary where the time has gone. Iz has decided that the assignments for the Cornelius Fudge School of Ethics will have to get put in the freezer while Iz concentrates on the sad saga at T and J's coffee roasting company.

Tomorrow being a Tuesday means that the gorgeous Gardens of Government House are open to the public from 12- 2pm. That of course means a picnic sitting under a very wickedly twisted olive tree that is nearly 180 years old. Iz this time won't be reading "The Hobbit" "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" or "Prisoner of Azkaban" or even "Principles of Contract Law" which are the books she associates most vividly with this gorgeous place but will probably be snooping in the stupid "Ethics in Business" text book got from the library. It's an itsie bitsie teenie weenie thing - eminently portable - not like the monstrously fat and ugly managerial accounting textbook which is definitely not bedtime reading material.

Being the first Tuesday of the month, there is also free entry to the Bell Tower just down from the gardens. This is one of the prettier of the Government white elephants. The bells are rung between 11.30 and 12.30 on Tuesdays so that is the best time to be there. Iz was once there on the same floor as the bells when they were ringing and it was simply fascinating to watch and listen. Iz just adores smells and bells. There is 16 of these little buggers and they are all rung by hand. There is just something so magical about bells. The bigger the better.
The working week at St Salazar's actually begins on Wednesday which is also when the Izzie holidays officially start but for some strange reason, Iz also got given tomorrow as a rostered day off without having requested it.

Sitting at home on Saturday counting the beans and finally starting on sorting out the piles of clutter everywhere (Iz should be decluttering right now instead of pottering in Cyberia) Iz came to the inescapable conclusion that there was going to be too much month left at the end of the money. The big bottle of whisky bought for Father's Day was the last straw that broke the camel's back and the final excuse that the Iz needed to be a bad Goblin and do yet another redraw on the house. So Iz will finally be able to find the 55 silver sickles to renew that zoo annual membership which ran out in June. Iz is getting terrible withdrawal symptoms from not seeing her favorite snakies or even the utterly gorgeous baby Hamydras Baboon who will probably look just like all the pink bummed grown ups by now. At only five weeks old, he looked incredibly cute and Gollumish.

Looks like Iz will not have time today to tell the story of a most intriguing book she seen in the charity shop last week with a picture of a serpent on the cover and the title "Passage to Power"
Will leave that for another day. But before the Iz goes, just a quick link that may be of interest to certain feline friends.
Iz is currently peeking in a most intriguing book with a most gorgeous picture on the cover with masses of coloured corals, spirals, jellyfish and assorted crazy creatures and the fascinating title "The Presence of the Past"
