Well, the Iz left Petunia's place and got her bottlie, went on a rant in the library and finally found her way to the relative peace and tranquility of St Brutus. Today was the arts bazaar with lots of incredibly gorgeous but also rather expensive crafty kind of stuff. There was a lot of pink fluffiness in abundance which seems to be a worrying new trend or maybe Iz has just developed pink and fluffy feelers. Lots of Christmas decorations are now using pastel pinks and greens instead of the traditional Burgundy Red and Emerald Green Christmas colours. And they do look amazingly pretty. Very delicate indeed and much more suitable colours for a sunny climate than the cold and wintry dark tones that are more traditional.

Iz was delighted to see her old acquaintance Elizabeth with her wicked selection of cupcakes and other assorted munchies. Well they look good enough to eat and certainly smell that way but appearances can be very deceiving
Iz first met this fascinating creature at another craft stall at Halloween when she was at Ford House for a decadent weekend of smelling the roses and listening to the frogs croaking.
She stayed the night as it was too far to go back home after the stalls had finished and we got to chatting about the art of soap making. Iz still has a Hobbythek book about making skin creams and shampoos and stuff. They do also explain about soap and give recipes and stuff but say that it is so much cheaper and safer to buy the stuff than try make it yourself but they still explain the process in some detail for the more adventurous sorts. If there's beef fat and caustic soda involved, the Iz will stay out of it thank you very much. Avocado or almond oil with water, lecithin and various essential oils is more along Izzie's idea of user friendly potions. Used to experiment with this stuff until coming to Oz. Unfortunately the hotter climate makes emulsions much more likely to curdle. Making chocolate truffles also presents similar difficulties due once again to the temperature problem. But at least the Iz can still make the good old fashioned and very popular "Cockroach Clusters" Easy peazie and very tasty too. Will soon need to be stocking up on dark chocolate, ginger and slivered almonds for the big Christmas 'bake up'.

This Elizabeth prefers to use goats milk and does also make the usual organic sort of stuff with real essential oils but her specialty is the munchy stuff. It simply has to be seen and sniffed to be believed.
Unfortunately, the Iz is now being good and keeping her paws off unnecessary redraws ie - living within her meagre house elf means again. So now we will once again have to pay attention to pesky matters like budgets and planning to have enough month left at the end of the money. Otherwise the Izzie lair would now be looking like a heaven for a chocoholic with compulsive hand washing tendencies.
