Poor little pipsqueak
19/05/2005 11:57 pmIzzie has been bravely trying to resist the wicked Imperius Curse placed on her by the evil Queen of Cats. But our resistance is wavering and we cannot hold out much longer than Friday. ;)
About more mundane matters - the Izzie has just spent the last 60 minutes downloading an MP3 file from her favorite radio station which has finally seen the light and introduced podcasting for its wannabee geek listeners. Izzie is one of the chosen few who got picked to participate in a trial run as we filled in a survey when they first announced this new scheme a few weeks back.
Izzie is most amused at the concept of 107% of a file being downloaded. Silly twits finally got wise and let us escape. But never ever ever again will Izzie dream of downloading while on dreaded dial up and will certainly not be ticking any 'automatically update subscriptions' boxes.
This file was a piddling 25mb and all we were getting was super dooper lightening fast 5.3 kb/ps Yesss - we know dial up is officially only up to 56kb/ps but surely a performance level of less than ten percent is simply inexcusable.
If it wasn't an interview with Craig Murray - just would not have bothered *Izzie restrains herself from going off on a most long overdue Uzbekistan rant*
Other news -the Cockroach Clusters are all wrapped up in their little boxes ready to be delivered to Teresa and the folks down the road who walk the doggies for us. The pecan versions look rather pretty and are certainly crunchy but just do not have the subtlety of flavour of the traditional almond version. Never did get around to finishing the whiskey plum puddings. Will just eat those plump plonker pruneses all on our ownsome instead of doing the puree and dipping in chocolate thing.
Aside from the pesky plodding pod stuff, had a very nice day which felt like a proper start to our 3 decadent weeks. Lounging about in the gardens of St Brutus is always a good way to get in the partying mood.
