izmeina: a snippet of Escher's circle of serpents (Default)
For some inexplicable reason, while the Iz was minding her own business, out of the blue - a strange thought comes into this ickle green serpent skull. It's May which means the imminence of a certain nautical visit. Oh thank God and the Cocytusian Cat for Simpy - the online bookmarking service. Iz took a quick peek at our Gotheborg page and got all the gory details. No - the ship was not arriving on Thursday 25th but departing. Oh those minor details. Turns out that on our visit yesterday, the local papers are plastered with pictures of the pretty precious ship along with all the scheduled events. Did not take too long for the Iz to realise that while it might be arriving around lunch time tomorrow in Fremantle, would not be open to the public and being required at work at 3pm would rather put a damper on the day. Turns out - is open to the public on Thursday - 12-4pm. Being a weekday, less competition for peeking spots and a bit of peace and quiet but bestest of all - no horrid clock watching. Will be able to see it leaving the following Thursday so no need to be greedy and watching it arrive as well - especially as a day in Fremantle now costs us just over six silver sickles in bus fares and not less than three like it did in our student days.

Just spent the last hour or so finishing off the August 2005 general journal entries for the Potions Mistress. Such a tedious thing but we only got 12 days left of our free software trial before it becomes read only so had to resist temptation - especially as we intend to deliver three envelopes with the Serpent seal for Thursday before pottering down to the pretty ships. Will be a slight change of plans to our usual routine and we might even end up giving the Juicy Beetroot a miss since there's just so many other temptations during their 3-4pm Happy Hour for hippies.

Today was our mad moonshine picnic since we will be working tomorrow evening when it is the official full moon. Nice it was too but still managed to miss it peeking above the horizon - was hiding behind one of the three buildings on the horizon. Izzie is so so losing her moon spotting talent.

Was wanting to bitch about the federal budget but will have to save that for another day. Is just gone midnight and is time for a snooze.
