Season's Greetings
11/09/2008 08:55 pmIzzie pops by her Cyberian Cell for a quick slink. Been out and about and up to no good as usual.
Thursday is the usual munchies feast at the Juicy Beetroot although the Izzie got there much later than intended due to a phone call from the ma wondering about the strange brown packet of seeds and stuff that arrived in her post box.
Looks like the Diggers club are just a bit too efficient. Timed the order with the aim of her birthday owl arriving next week - preferably Thursday. Well - better early than late.
Decided not to renew the serpent's membership which runs out at the end of September - there's simply no point in renewing due to lack of space for more trees and other weeds. But that did not stop Izzie paying a visit today to the local plants native nursery in Fremantle and buying a bag of banksias and some very feral wattles.
Will be a busy Izzie tomorrow afternoon with planting those along with the potatoes. Our new rule is no more weeds after the spring Equinox. That's the time for weeding, watering and feeding and keeping alive what we've got rather than being on the prowl for more stuff
Yesterday, finally got those paws on two precious Moon cakes. An expensive little luxury they are too but strangely enough are just about the one thing that has not gone up in price at all while everything else in the line of edibles is around 10-20% more expensive from this time last year
But it's kind of sweet that some people still stick to traditions where once the festival is over after this weekend, the cakes will be still on sale for a week or so but will then disappear and not be seen again until next September.
So unlike the rest of the Wild West which due to the lack of a November federal election this year, has returned to the usual schedule of Christmas in September.
It will soon be time for Izzie to let loose the inner Grinch again and start snarking about snowflakes, reindeer and roast dinners in the middle of a sizzling Oz summer.
