The Serpent's Toys
29/05/2009 10:00 pmIzzie is all confused and confuzzled. Being a good serpent and sorting out goblin stuff and the old very bad habit of procrastination.
One of the items on that 101 list is learning how to use a graphics tablet. Used to drool over these toys in the Apple store and imagine all the amazing artistic things the serpent could do with such a wonderful widget. Did decide that it is a most decadent luxury indeed but would be a special treat for the big 40. Especially since the Izzie was left to celebrate all by herself as the ma and pa had left the country only two weeks previously.
Sat in the sunshine in the gardens of our favorite old lunatic asylum, took the pretty silver tablet out of its box and drooled over it
But toys are just like books for Izzie. Always more interesting when they are in the store or in the library. Once in our possession, there's always tomorrow to play with them
So here is the Izzie now four years on and only today finally got around to plugging it in to the Preciousss and playing with it. The usual excuse of being too busy was wearing just a bit thin. If there's no time while on holidays, there'll be even less when back at work after the first week of June.
Got to thinking how silly it was to do such a thing. If the desire to possess such a gadget was still strong four years on, could have got the present model with all sorts of bells and whistles and probably only half the price in real terms.
Tried a bit of squiggling with the pen but still not worked out how to save stuff and paint pretty piccies.
That will be just the excuse to procrastinate on producing that deck of tarot cards
While on a roll with all this muggle technology, maybe it's time to finally dig out the phone with the camera. Got it especially for taking piccies of progress in the python's pumpkin patch but got scared off by the ridiculously complicated instruction book. There's a lot to be said for those ancient red Nokias which you can work out just by playing with them. The serpent likes simplicity
Just as well the Izzie has got two weeks off. Did not make the mistake of taking 3 like this time last year only for the Dementors to drop in and steal one of them. So much stuff been going on and so so many interesting things to do and read that it's tiring just thinking about them all.
The weekend will be a feast of Farmers' markets and graveyards. Might manage to squeeze in a new exhibition of old gramophones and radios. Next week will be the Nick Cave freak show in the dusty old animals exhibit section of the museum. Such a busy Izzie
