It's been the first crisp and crunchy sunny day for weeks in Izzieland. Just perfect for the usual Thursday trip to Fremantle for munchies, coffee crawls and pottering about reading "The Half-blood Prince"
Problem with the last half of these books is they are so big and bulky that you can't just toss them in your bag but have to find a proper spot for them. So progress is a bit slower than usual considering our reading is usually confined to Thursdays and Fridays in all sorts of pretty and scenic places. Really must make an effort to be finished in time for the movie

But a phone call from the Dursleys put an end to that plan. They'd been trying to ring all yesterday afternoon and finally succeeded last night. They'd be bringing over the Tumbleweed and some firewood for the Lair as well as picking up the piles of Petunia's clothes that once used to live in the spare bedroom.

Izzie does not mind too much. Getting our paws on a Tumbleweed is well worth waiting a week for another day out. It's an ancient but very effective compost tumbler supported on a triangular frame which you give a couple of tumbles a day to keep the critters going. There's holes on both sides for aeration and letting liquid drain off. They probably got it from Vergemart (our favorite shopping destination) but have already got a mulcher so got no need for a compost tumbler.
But there was another unintended side effect. The serpent basket was getting seriously cluttered with all those clothes. Some were in the broom cupboard and others sitting on an open rack getting all dusty.
There's nothing like an externally imposed deadline to create motivation where none previously existed. So managed to get more tidying done between 8am and their official arrival at 10am than we would normally do in a week. Bad Izzie. Lazy Izzie.
It was kind of amusing to see Petunia's embarrassment at the pile and piles of pretty things, many of which she had never even worn. They still had the store labels hanging off them. She had no idea just how many there were. She'll be a bit more restrained in future concerning commenting on this serpent's books and munchies hoarding habits. Not that it's a justification. We really need to use and enjoy the stuff we got instead of getting more - even if the new books are not bought but free from the local library.
Daisy is the only one in the whole family not afflicted with the clutterbug curse.

So now we got a nice clean swept room with more space for important things like books and snacks.

But will not be enjoying it tonight. Not sure if they have forgotten or simply kept it quiet but today is the Dursley's 45th wedding anniversary so Izzie will be popping over with some bubblie and other bottlies. Not sure what else to get the couple who have got everything and are totally not interested in romantic dinners in restaurants

Not being in the Lair tonight is also the only possible justification for pottering about in Cyberia in the middle of a glorious sunny day. Not one single solitary beachball or Firefox freeze. Must be because it's off peak time in Cyberia
Time to slink off. There's library books due back. Wonders if we can keep our paws off getting new ones.
