A September Summary
16/09/2009 10:00 pmLazy Izzie reports for her weekly duty. Been a strange strange week. Up and down like a yoyo with no explicable reason for either Saturday and Sunday's irrational exuberance (especially when Sunday's activities mainly consisted of 12 hours at work) or yesterday's and today's irritable misery.
But now it's three work free days and a big juicy street festival full of greenies on Saturday
Last Wednesday was wonderful. Not just a gorgeous day and an interesting lecture on Aboriginal astronomy and it was free too. But the Izzie was relaxed and happy and remained in the present time. Thursday and Friday were both a washout. It rained all day. Should have been a clever creative serpent and got some reading and arty sorts of stuff done. Instead spent most of the day snoozing and left the Lair only to return some library books due back that day
Friday was more snoozing and a few hours in the city simply so as not to waste a whole precious day off. The big surprise of the day was a big fat Santa sack. It could be only one explanation.
The goodies from the jungles of Amazon had arrived. It is so wonderful to find a company that underpromises and over delivers. It was only two weeks previously sending the order and they said that the delivery date would be the first week of October
Saturday was back to work but spent the morning in the city visiting the happy hippy farm. The lady with the beeswax candles was there and she also had a bunch of remnant wax seals from her stash of wax related things. No spirals but she did have the odd pentacle or two and tossed in some vermillion wax as an extra. Will need to get experimenting. Apparently there's special stuff and not just dye added to them. But that will not stop Izzie experimenting with the dripping from her black skull beeswax candles
Sitting in their garden watching the bees and listening to the roosters is also a gorgeous way of spending time. It's sort of magical especially when picking up bits of plants and admiring all the pretty patterns. Curly kale is especially cool and quirky. Just like coral really
Weekends are usually good at work. The idiots from management are not there and that makes a big difference. But they'd decided to add a wicked twist and left some ridiculous new rules. Lucky Izzie was working in the section that wasn't affected
Had one hour to go and grand plans for visiting the ma as usual on Saturday evening and a morning snooze when some one rang in sick for Sunday morning and Izzie got offered the shift
Normally lazy Izzie never does doubles except on Sundays. While the snooze was inviting - it certainly could not justify giving up the possibility of working an extra 6 hours but getting paid for 10.
Monday was good too. It was quite tempting to slink into the city in the afternoon but figured that it was safer to slink about the garden in the sunshine and catching up on lost Sunday snooze time in the afternoon. And anyway was saving that little city ritual for Tuesday 16th
But it rained all day. Didn't even get around to opening the bottle of bubblie and toasting to the first anniversary of Gloom and Doom on steroids.
Today was sunny but there was stupid stuff at work which meant having to stay until 3pm. What a waste of a precious spring day to sit and listen to a pile of management buzzword bullshit and the usual insults from that mob who are descending to new depths in their level of pettiness
So once again slinked around the Lair and peeked at some of the Amazon stash. Watched the inverter clock up 3 kilowatts for the first time since April. So spring is now official as far as this serpent is concerned
Izzie really needs to get back to the old habit of squiggling about the critters at work. Some of them are just amazing and others are the most evil petty vicious freaks. (mostly the buzzword bullshit artists that are management)
Izzie's adopted Fairy Godmother has been gone over a month now and still not posted in honour of her yet. And then there was the beautiful Bug in Boots. All the gorgeous ones are going
