Slacking and Slinking
12/01/2015 02:14 pmThe serpent has been seriously slacking on the squiggling front. There's just way too much sensory overload in the culture vulture paradise that is Amsterdam. Its also only the second time out and about in the city that I have been able to find some decent free wifi.
Presently in the Rijksmuseum coffee shop taking time out from perusing a whole palace full of paintings. The museum pass my sister gave me for Christmas is worth its weight in gold since it means being able to visit as often as I like. No need to be overwhelmed by the compulsion to see as much as possible in just one visit.
Here is hoping for a fix of Hieronymous Bosch and other creepy medieval stuff. Problem is that when there are too many beautiful things, it simply is impossible to appreciate them all.
For most of these museums, it really is a good idea to plot and plan a strategy before even darkening the doors.
Its still a grey day outside. There is a giant window with a view to the street and all the folks whizzing by on their bikes.
Time to slink off and visit Van Gogh and Rembrandt.
