Tweeking the Time Turner
29/02/2016 10:22 pmIzzie has been a lazy lazy serpent. Lately taken to just lurking online. All the festivals are over so there is now no excuse for catching up with comments and the odd post or two.
While not being one of those (un)lucky folks celebrating their birthday today, it is a good excuse to indulge in a bit of nostalgia. The last leap day was on a Wednesday back in 2012. I was still slaving away at the mad house where Dolores and her minions were busy slashing and burning and squeezing every penny until the pips squeaked.
These days the pay is a lot lower but the work place culture is so much better and the goblins are seldom to be seen.
It's four years ago but sort of feels like some time last century. Four years from now on Saturday 29th February 2020 maybe I will be thinking that this day seems as if it were centuries ago. Assuming of course that the serpent has not slinked out of this mortal coil. If all goes according to plan, 2020 will be the year of the next grand adventure in Europe. (I can already hear the gods hissing and cackling with evil glee at such serpentine audacity)
Soon the sizzling hot days will be over and it will be time to start planting garlic and saffron bulbs and pottering off to see the annual Sculptures by the Sea at sunset.
