This emerald serpent has been lying low lately
It's not that I am deliberately snubbing or ignoring people in Dreamwidth Land
The explanation is a little more simple. Here in the wild west of Oz, we have been having a string of 40 celsius days. Bunches of 2 or 3 of them in a row. Including Christmas Day itself
this means that not only am I totally zonked and brain dead but the lazy lousy Big Mac is even more temperamental than usual. At such temperatures, it's just one giant beach ball party. The old critter had its 11th birthday today so I guess I should be grateful it even works at all since Apple is so famous for their inbuilt obsolescence
So any time I even think of slinking upstairs for a catch up squiggle, the inner critter finds 101 reasons to stay away.
I need to polish the fridge condensers, count the grains in a bag of rice, catch up on the latest Mills and Boons bodice ripper, count the spines on my collection of cacti, etc etc etc
If not for the impending deadline of New Year's Eve, (because the only thing sadder than an annual review in January is reminiscing about the office Christmas party on Boxing Day) I would still be slinking in the garden looking at the stars instead of slaving over a hot keyboard
I have occasionally tried posting on Dreamwidth on the tweet stone but aside from the frustration of hunting and pecking the keys when I could be touch typing with a real keyboard, DW seems particularly phone unfriendly. Even Nanowrimo have lifted their game a bit from last year's disastrous new website to make it more friendly for the phone folk
So these days, I'm pretty much limiting online lurking to Duolingo (I finally made it to the Diamond jewelry cupboard this week) Twitter and Washington Post with the odd detour to Youtube
All the chaos and productivity porn posts are just so tempting but at present I just peek but don't participate.
Now I better slink off to the serpent sack to face the last day of this nasty year.
