Zonked in Oz

The snailish serpent has slinked back into the land of Oz and is feeling ever so snoozy. Changing snow for sizzling icky sticky summer heat is not much fun especially when the snow stayed away until the very day of departure so had to make do with the view from bus and airplane windows.
Still not yet got back to the good old Big Mac keyboard and pecking is no fun.
I have most definitely overdosed on museums and other culture vulture temptations and likely fried large numbers of grey cells in the process.
Catching up is so hard to do.

Looking at the Amazon page, did find it quite hard to match their four suites with the traditional ones but on seeing the Reichenbach Falls as the Tower, just could not go past it. (Many moons ago had made a pilgrimage to this very location in Switzerland with a serious Sherlock geek. It was an absolutely gorgeous little town and we also spent 3 hours at the local Sherlock Holmes museum while being amused by the antics of a bus load of Japanese tourists who lurked for no longer than 20 minutes before taking lots of photos and buying the obligatory bags of souvenirs)
Funny thing about winter. Got no snow at all except around midnight of the day before I was leaving. Oh they did have some snow before that but it waited for precisely those days that Izzie was slinking around the cafes of Vienna where there was no snow at all and the weather was much milder than in Amsterdam.
It was so sad trudging to the bus stop early on last Friday morning with the ground covered in snow and the sun shining and knowing that the Izzie was leaving just when the weather was getting all gorgeous.
I think that between the jet lag, museums and general gorgeousness that is Amsterdam (other than the weather which was 80% awful) the old serpent brain cells got completely fried. It's a much more freak friendly city than Paris which is just so grand and overwhelming. Definitely worth adding to the Cat's visit list.
