More snaky snippets

Some happy little snippets for today. My unofficial ambition in life is to get Mr Curly - also known as Michael Leunig canonized as a saint. Of course it would be more fun to start a tax deductable cult...but wouldn't want anyone to associate Izzie with the likes of Ron L Hubbard and his secret broom cupboard.
So here is today's link http://www.its.caltech.edu/~kai/leunig.html
Yesterday Iz, Wormtail and Nagini visited three of our favorite places and also finished for the 8th time "The Chamber of Secrets" Since we are back to the beans at the Min of Fin next week, it will be my last fix of Potter until 21 June. Will be putting in a request for the day off so we can go to lots of Potter parties.
Should really move on to that Joseph Campbell stuff. Is most interesting but a bit heavy...not your average bedtime reading. Still somewhat more enlightening than corporate law and accounting information systems.
Oh.. a few little snippets about my furry friend. Petunia was not amused when Wormtail insisted on sticking his paws on any bottle of red he could lay his hands on. "Get that filthy rat out of my sight" But after a week or so.. one evening Iz returns from the shower to discover the little dear with his nose in a glass of Bushmills whisky. And that was Petunia's idea! Never did introduce her to the green creature lurking in the bottom of the bag... that would really have been too much.
But since then the flirtatious little critter had been raiding the Pernod too not to mention some of the questionable stuff they had on the plane.
We also discovered that the duty free allowance had been increased to 2 litres each of spirits or wine. Stuff like Baileys and wines are a waste of a precious allowance (Why pay whisky prices for cream?) so we got very snooty and stocked up on Bushmills, McCallan and Tallisker. The latter is a bit smoky but they didn't have Lagavulin... whatever it's called. Since it will be a couple years before Iz gets back to Middle Earth to visit all those places she missed last time, can afford to be a bit decadent with the duty free. The stuff is expensive enough but absolutely outrageous if you were to get it at the bottle shop.
So What does Pruffi recommend for the shopping basket next time.?.. will have 2 years to save.
Is exasctly one year since my last day at that nasty ol job I mentioned yesterday. Is so true.. the fish rots from the head. The new boss who Iz christened 'Mac the Knife' and 'Keeper of the Chainsaw' exactly one year to the day after taking over announced that we were being outsourced and offered redundancies. The day she started Tuesday 6 Feb 2001 also happened to be the exact date that Iz started at the job with the blond blue eyed boss she affectionately called 'Heil Hilde'. But that was Tuesday 6 Feb 1990. Turns out to be no coincidence...but took Izzie more than a year to realize that.
We had 4 weeks after 6 Feb 2002 and it was so funny that the happiest creatures were the 3 taking the redundancies and not the ones staying. Four wonderful weeks of smirking and gloating at the miserable creatures.... but more of that in the next installment.
Oh and whatever happened to evil Izzie? She is alive and well and busy becoming acquainted with her serpentine associates (http://www.spacefossil.freeserve.co.uk/Sean/serpensortia.htm)
