Izzie is indulging in the art of advanced procrastination. Got two exams coming up - one on 12 November and one on 18 November.
At the moment I have two weeks holidays, returning to my life of house elf drudgery on Wednesday 5 November.
Like the good little goblin that I should be, one would think Iz would use those extra six hours per day to slave over a hot abacus and do lots of questions on trusts, uniform capital allowances, dividend imputation and corporation taxation. But nnnnnnoooo. Instead Izzie is busy squiggling in Secret Diary Land.
Well, I will be getting a nice fat dividend cheque for Halloween. Just as well, because Iz has been bad again and spending the silver sickles on luxuries like wine and cheese. At least the Zoo is free for me.

Wednesday mornings at 11.15 is python feeding time. Since Iz normally works Wednesdays, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
Was there last Wednesday drooling over the gorgeous little darlings. They look so so sweet having a big yawn after munching all those mousies.
This week, will be there again and may even manage to bring the ma with me.
Tomorrow is Izzie's last class with Professor Binns. No great loss. It will be interesting to see what evil things he did to the Izzie Microsoft vs Linux essay. Since this guy looks like a cross between King George W and George Clooney and believes all the neoliberal "Free trade is good for you" and "Capitalism will save the universe" stuff, Izzie's chances don't look too good.(Epecially as the second part of the essay which required two examples of strategic decision making was about the NAFTA trade agreements)
But Izzie has gotten too old for brown nosing. If it's a choice between being true to herself and getting an A plus - well the price of the Izzie soul is a lot higher than that.
Let's leave that sort of thing to the "Man of Steel"

October for Izzie is a time for nostalgia and visits to "the twilight zone"
That included one of the local historical graveyards that is only open to the public from 2-4 on Sunday Afternoons. As Iz usually works 3-10 on Sundays, seemed like a logical place to go. Apart from the fact that I go every October holidays, ever since finding the place four years ago.
Ended up losing the 'phoenix' feather there, from my green snaky hat. Iz wonders if that is an omen of sorts!
Another place Izzie likes to visit in October is the valley which is a 30 min train ride from the centre of Dursleyville. They have a festival there for one weekend every October and it was finally in October 2001 that Iz managed to request a day off from work in time to go. (We usually need to put in requests about 4-5 weeks in advance except for emergencies)
The Mardi Gras Parade is another Izzie favorite but this year they moved the goal posts and instead of the last Saturday of October, it is going to be next Saturday. Iz will not be going as she will be off on her broomstick on more interesting adventures.
Will get back to it later, but there is something very mysterious and magical about doing the same thing on about the same day every year. It brings back memories of the previous times and it is almost like the past is present again in some strange inexplicable way.
This is particularly powerful when the year comes around in the inevitable circle. The pattern is kind of chaotic (Thanks to leap years) but there is a logic to it. For instance, all the days and dates of this year coincide with 1997. Like 27 October was also a Monday that year. The whole cycle repeats itself every 28 years but an individual year has a pattern of repeating at 6,11,6 and then five years. (The fifth year is a pain because it's a leap year and does not include January and February) Iz saves quite a bit of money on calendars by knowing this trick. (So keep those 1999 calendars for next year -well from March onwards they should be useful)
Well...instead of counting days, Izzie should be counting beans.
Will be back again with some snippets about a very strange weekend.
