A jar of jalapenos

izmeinaSick Izzie seen this quote and just had to share it with the interesting creatures - especially as I've decided to plant a herb patch with basil, tomatoes and lots of fiery little orange lanterns - habanero chilies. In comparison jalepenos taste as mild as chocolate!

But yesterday was no time for gardening. Iz was too busy slurping champagne with the ma. While I do like the stuff, I very rarely buy it simply because it just does not represent value for money. One of the bottlies we got to sample was a Moet and Chandon 1996 which was the princely price of 100 silver sickles if Izzie was silly enough to buy it. And I've tasted plenty bottles of the local stuff for 15 or so that I much much preferred. But to be honest, Iz and her faithful friend Wormtail (and Petunia) much prefer a drop or two of red any day to that fuddy duddy bubbly stuff. When Iz wants bubbles she buys sparkling Shiraz.
Today, Iz decided that the three bean free months have to be used constructively, starting in the garden. Well actually - Iz got an elfish fit and went around doing a bathroom and bedroom blitz. Next stop was to transplant the banana tree to a sunnier spot and to admire the pretty yellow cactus flowers. (Izzie is very good at growing cacti)
Then I could go off on the broomstick to the Kaiten Sushi bar without the usual guilt trip. From 3.30 to 6pm is Happy Hour. Free smelly Dobby sock Miso soup and 30% off all sushi.
Looks like Iz will be working Christmas day after all. I normally don't work Thursdays and was really hoping for the first Izzie Christmas off work since 1998 but ended up getting rostered on 7-3.30 pm. A bit peeved but can't complain. I did say I was available in the morning as there was no way I wanted to get stuck doing an afternoon instead. But the main thing - requested New Years Day off and got that and a morning shift for New Years' Eve. Will be off on the broomstick to the beach after work. Iz much prefers New Years Eve to Christmas and wishes a happy Thanksgiving to all her USA acquaintances and happy munchies to all the Muslims out there for Eid al Fitr.
(And a not so happy Potter free day at the movies to those of us who have now gotten used to our annual fix at the end of the last few Novembers.Since we can't have it now they ought to release it for the full moon next June)
