Izzie is just recovering from a simply gorgeous day of indulging in all sorts of silly nostalgia and rituals. This evening will spend the time wrapping presents for a Christmas party tomorrow morning at 7am! and hanging up the green and silver baubles around the lair.

Was so busy reminiscing on the moonlit adventures that I didn't even mention the wonderful owl from the Izzie fairy godparents in Durmieland.
Lots of quaint and cute things. The pictures of Lubeck and Quedlinburg got Iz all sloshy and nostalgic but the sweetest of all was the Christmas card which they signed as from "Molly, Arthur, Harry and Ron"
(The ma has an uncanny resemblence to Molly Weasley in more ways than one. The pa works for the Muggle version of the Ministry of Magic (he is a church minister) and is particularly obsessed with Muggle artifacts -especially trains One of the kids has carrot colored hair and the other was one of the faces Izzie recalled when reading the books for the first time and trying to imagine the Potter boy)

It was funny visiting the cafe today where I used to go when I worked at that other nasty house elf job. Well it used to be a wonderful place to work until one of those bean counting Umbridge sorts took over in early 2001 and totally ruined it.
Used to be a regular hangout for Iz after work for reading papers, writing letters and even reading Potter books.
But unlike 11 December 2001 where Iz went to the cafe after work and then home to scrub her scales and potter off to the movies, today was not working and was not going to waste a glorious sunny day stuck inside watching films.
On the previous Friday of that year, I had started reading "Goblet of Fire" and was getting severe withdrawal symptoms when I had to leave it at home and go to work Saturday evening and then stay at Petunia's place without the Precioussss. In those days Izzie had two jobs. Used to work Saturday, Sunday and Monday 3-9 evenings in the same place that I still am now and the other job was as a house elf in the kitchens from 8.30-12.30 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. For years and years that particular kitchen shift was 7-1 and Izzie had five of them but the new bitch on the block slashed the hours and took the Wednesday off ickle Iz.

So at least Tuesday after work was going to have all the time in the world to continue this crazy new addiction. Amazed I even took time out to go to see a movie! (Well it was "HP and the Philosopher's Stone" which I had already seen the previous week but just had to see again)
Most unusual for Iz to go to a movie starting at a time that would mean missing the sunset but some addictions were just so overwhelming.
Iz got home and spent the evening sitting outside with the Preciousss and a few glasses of wine. Way way past midnight. If I had known what evil awaited, maybe would have been a bit more careful and would certainly have waited until I'd read "Prisoner of Azkaban" before going on to "Goblet" But I didn't.

The Goblin monsters are locking up. Gotta be going
