Izzie is peeeeeved. Was looking forward to a long night lurking in Cyberia after a hard day at work slaving away like a house elf. But it is not to be
Cannot really complain though because Iz chose Scrooge over Snooze tomorrow morning.
I was hardly in the door at work this afternoon when the Troll pounces on Iz and asks if she could swap a shift with me. I automatically says no but then realizes that she wants me to work tomorrow morning 7-1 which is a Saturday which means more silver sickles for ickle Iz.
(I normally have Thursdays and Fridays off and work Saturdays but this time ended up being rostered for the two days of Christmas and getting the weekend off instead)
Apart from missing my morning snooze, it does not really stop me doing anything I would have done otherwise. Now working evenings is another matter. Like it is a bit hard to totally relax when you got to watch the clock all the time. (And we wants the money)
Iz never does get around to talking much about house elf business. They are all very nice with the exception of one - who Iz calls The Troll and the others call PC (The P says Iz stands for 'Puta' - Sara and friends can guess the rest;))
So so true that beauty is skin deep and ugly goes to the bone. She looks and behaves like the sort of creature who would be far more in her natural environment working as a prison warden or the camp commandant from hell rather than a nursing home.
Izzie has nicknames for most of the staff members and just about all the residents at St Salazars. Some are nasty and some are nice but they are usually always pretty much to the point.
(Iz has even heard others using the Izzie bestowed titles) Special pride of place goes to "The Purple Princess" also known as Her Royal Purpleness. Unfortunately the perfect title is utterly pointless as while there is at least one of them in every workplace, no one else there has ever heard of Dementors so Iz just calls her the Vampire Queen instead.
Feel free to make guesses about the nature of the illness of this royal ratbag. Iz has found some interesting coincidences and will toss out some more tidbits later about this bitter and twisted sister.

Well - Was working until 3pm for Christmas and it was a pretty nice day. Flew home on the broomstick and scrubbed the Izzie scales and made some last minute touches to the munchies basket for the ma and pa. Had to find a box for the Izzie specialty - Cockroach Clusters and to also sneak a few banknotes into the Christmas Crackers and other bits and pieces.
The pa picked me up about 4.30 pm and we went off to the Dursleys for dinner. Damned delicious it was too. But the prezzies - they were priceless. The ma can make a silk purse out of a pigs ear and did an especially good job on an evil present that bore a remarkable resemblance to a miniature coffin with silver ruffled foil on the sides and a silver ribbon bow thingie on the top. Back to that later. The soap on a rope made its annual appearance with a few twists in the tail. Really quirky and cute was the box of booze hiding underneath a layer of magazines. Was it mere coincidence that the first of these had the most adorable Hobbit sitting cross legged on the cover? Iz does drool over the likes of Keanu Reaves and Colin Farrel but also finds Peter Jackson to be utterly adorable. This is a guy that is screaming out to be cuddled and SQUISHED.
Some of Petunia's quirky touches sometimes lead Iz to believe that she is far more acquainted with the wierd magical world of Iz than she cares to admit.

Well - is nearly Izzie bedtime. No chats with Cats tonight of any variety. So much stuff to write and so little time. The Pruffie review of 2003 is an interesting meme. And then one could add a wishlist for 2004. Is always amusing to look back 12 months on. But Iz always starts New Years resolutions on 1 December to give a bit of practice time. And then it looks like Iz will want to sort out five character traits for Amani's Sorting Hat. Only five? Any suggestions?

And those pickled brains in a jar was a most wonderful present. Worth a whole post to themselves. Iz got so so nostalgic thinking about a certain book about a man with a partly pickled brain. Was one of the absolute Izzie favorites until the Owl with the invitation arrived just over two years ago.
