izmeina: a snippet of Escher's circle of serpents (Smilie)

After hearing countless raves about the Joys of Semagic from her feline friends, ickle Izzie decides it is time to investigate. First attempt failed but taking a quick peek, Iz can now see why so many folks post countless LJ cuts, pics and links. There is me thinking, oh God it is so so tedious always having to type in all that HTML and now discovers that all they have to do is click on a button.
Will be interesting to see if it will still be there when Iz logs out and comes back again.

But that is not the big stuff up of the day. The sun is shining and it is twilight - the most gorgeous time of day. Iz should be out slinking in the twilight but instead is lurking in the corridors of the Min. Oh - will go out shortly to see the second last sunset of the year. It will be a pretty one too.
This year they did not close for Christmas which saves Iz wasting precious net cafe hours squiggling.

Two weeks ago Iz realizes that she has the princely sum of 40 silver sickles to last until payday for Christmas. Will I scrimp it out and take the chance that our pay will be arriving two days early - on Tuesday 23 instead of Thursday 25 or will I be naughty and indulge and end December by breaking my new years resolution only 3 weeks after making it. (Iz always likes to start New Year's resolutions on 1st December so that they are habits by the time the real new year arrives)
Bad Iz, naughty Iz gave into temptation and redrew a big fat 300 silver sickles and bought lots of nice yummie munchies and bottlies for Vernon and Petunia.

The Ma and Pa gave Iz some money among other things but I did not bring it with me as I was working on 26 December and going straight from their place. It's not usually a problem but the Troll was there that evening and there is nowhere for the house elves to lock our stuff. The troll is not past munching sweets and choccies from the residents' drawers without being offered them, so she would have hardly any more respect for house elf stuff.

Next day Iz goes shopping and discovers she has far more in the bank than she expected. Whoopeee - a spending spree. But wait! The bean counting instincts kick in and Iz figures that the amount in there is remarkably similar to the amount which should have been debited on Thursday for the house repayment. Most peculiar indeed. They have never ever been that late before. Or maybe they are giving folks a Christmas break.
On Sunday the money still had not been debited and Iz thinks - apart from the ma's money - got the princely sum of $$12 to last till Payday. There are no bills to pay - well there is union fees and insurance but there is New Years eve and Izzie's ickle green day to consider and that means bus fares and a couple coffees which is an optional but desirable extra. They are the biggest days on the Iz calendar and no way am I going to miss going to St Brutus or the beach for the sake of a silly bus fare and no way am I going on the broomstick. Too much like work and one shouldnt' drink and pedal anyway.

So let's take the chance of being whacked with an overdraw fee and take out twenty anyway.
Sure enough - takes a peek at the bank today and the House monsters have grabbed their due and left the account in debit. Oh shame. Such a scandal - Iz being a bean counter and all.
But what is so so funny - Iz does not feel too pleased about the goblins charging nasty feeses but not that long ago would have been tearing my hair out, weeping and wailing, gnashing teeth and viewing this as yet another sign of my intrinsic and pathetic worthless insignificance.
But not now. You makes the choice and takes the risk and lives with it.
Funny - lost or broke quite a few things of sentimental value this year. Stuff that I just could not live without. It never ceased to amaze me each time how I was able to accept it and move on.
So the Izzie plan of some coffees and a walk to the foreshore for yet another coffee and sunset and admiring the city lights got cancelled due to lack of shekels. Nothing but nothing is to get in the way of tomorrow's grand sunset picnic.

You're now living my life.
