The Izzie wish list

izmeinaLooks like this will be the last ickle Izzie post for 2003.
Wishing all the friendses, acquaintances and interesting creatures the best of luck in the new year.
The Bad Badger has been conspicuous by her absence. Iz does hope that it has nothing to do with Iz turning all her kitchen house elves into clones of Winky;)
Parvin, one of the Kitchen elves at Izzies' workplace has been on holidays the last few weeks. Been thinking of her a lot lately. Not because her folks are sensible and celebrate the New Year on a meaningful date like 21st March (solstices, equinoxes, new moons and that sort of thing) but because she went home to visit her folks and they live in Iran.
When you live in a graveyard, you can't weep for everyone but it makes a tragedy ever more real when you know some one who may be personally connected to it. Iz really was surprized at how few people knew that that is where Parvin comes from. She never did say where her family lives but Teheran would be a pretty good guess.
Izzies' biggest new years' resolution is to pay a very large chunk off the lair. Like at least $$7,000 and preferably 8,000 or more. That means being organized and resisting temptations (Like next week's 20% off ALL books sales)
2004 will be the final year of forking out hard earned cash for goblins fees and textbooks and stuff. Will also be the last year of unlimited access to Cyberia. Iz will have to get herself a laptop and a nasty nook on the internet to relocate the minions at the Ministry of Misery.
Then there is the gardens. Nowhere near as green as it is possible to be at all. There are trees to be planted and lots of mad cow manure and straw to strew around. Iz better stop looking at those permaculture books and get those paws in the muck instead.
We wants an olive tree, more mangoes and a successful attempt at resurrecting one very miserable fig and pecan.
The only plants that have survived Izzie's brown fingers are the orange trees, grape vines and cacti. Oh - wormwood can also put up with a lot of abuse.
If Iz can get it right in the next few months or so, we may even have some friendly froggies and tiger snakes coming to snoop.
Then there is the stuff in the broom cupboard that needs to be sorted and dusted off. Oodles and oodles of books and the sadly neglected Izzie creations that have wilted away from lack of attention (It's not just plants that I have that effect on) There were a few forked tongues that Iz half invented before the Goblins became so damned demanding. It's time for Iz to stop lurking in Conlangs land and start talking in tongues;)
What an amazing place to meet creatures crazier than myself. And once again a big squishy thanks to the Cocytusian Cat for her evil and ever so corrupting influence. (That community is full of felines and there is just the cutest guide to Cat care)
Oh and last but not least. Every iconoclastic eccentric should have one.

Now THAT is bad, my cooks per se are whiners and turning them into Winkys *shudders* I knew there was something wrong with them...Thinking it twice at least you didn't turn them into Dobbys...then I wouldn't have any kitchen left *giggles*
