Izzie has been very very lazy.
Spent so long chatting to cats on Wednesday evening that I did not go to bed until 4 in the morning. But Iz had nothing planned for the day since it was supposed to be hot and humid, icky and sticky. And payday is NEXT Thursday.

I did wake up for 9 am to listen to one of the Izzie favorite radio programs. They were supposed to be announcing the winners to the "Tell us your New Year's resolution in only 3 words" competition. They didn't so I was a bit peeved.
Then it was back to bed for more snoozies and I didn't leave the house until 4pm. Turned out to be hot but nowhere near as clammy as they said it would be. So decided to go to town to renew my library books which were due back today. Was most delighted to be able to keep both the Two Towers book and Prisoner of Azkaban audio thingie. Saved having to bring both of them in today just in case there was a request for either. They are not exactly pocket sized.

Next stop was to get a bottlie for the night. Izzie's cellar is rather empty except for the four bottle of Wynns Cabernet which are strictly for very special occasions.
I really hit the jackpot yesterday. Not only did I get to keep the books but the redraw for the goblin fees came in much earlier than expected. I rang them on Wednesday but officially it can take 3 working days to get the loot transfered.
The bill is due by 5 March and if you pay before that date you get a 25% discount which in Izzie's case is $$500. Not to be sneezed at. Not too many investments with that sort of after tax return are so risk free. That's about 45 hours of Izzie house elf wages
It's the same everywhere. If you are poor you get screwed. I am very lucky because most students cannot afford to pay upfront like that and take advantage of the discount and end up postponing payment of their fees until they leave and get a job.

Iz figures - since I have to redraw anyway - would be a bit silly to subject myself to the usual end of fortnight scrimping and scraping and will need extra money for some of those nasty text books anyway.

After a trip across the river on the ferry listening to that wonderful radio program and then a few hours pottering in Cyberia, it was time to go home and do some housework and watering the weeds.

Izzie goes out the back and leaves the sliding door open while watering the baby banana 'tree' and then returns to the house to get a glass of red wine. And what does we see but a sneak and a thief lurking in the lounge. A most utterly absolutely adorable Siamese cat with colorings like you would see on a cave painting - beautiful smokey browns and beiges.
This creature peruses the premises with an air so as to say - now go and get me a bowl of milk and some freshly grilled salmon on a silver platter and then you can piss off.
Then she goes slinking upstairs to inspect her new domains with this stare that says - well what are you looking at me like that for. I will come and go as I please and you better get used to it.
Izzie did not have any milk in the house and certainly no slimy little fisheses. In the end I had to trick the little creature into going back into the lounge where I had opened the door for her to leave and from where she could not get to the stairs. She lurked around the door but had no intention at all of leaving so in the end ickle Iz had to lift her out as it would not have been nice to lock her up inside the house all night and of course we don't have a cat flap for such occasions.

When Iz was a little flobberworm, we used to leave the windows open and doors unlocked at night but those days are long long gone.

Today we got the weather we were supposed to have gotten yesterday but it did improve towards the end of the day. Izzie had a breezy evening sitting on the sand watching the sun sink into the sea. Simply gorgeous. And it seems that apart from Izzie, the only people who bother to watch the sunset on the beach are the foreigners. Yesss. Izzie is easily pleased.

But this evening I got the sun in my eyes as I am now hatless. On the way to St Brutus, it blew off and I managed to stick my finger through the straw when putting it on again and the whole hat started unravelling and was soon beyond redemption. It would be a terrible waste to toss such a preciousss possession into the bin so Iz came up with the inspiration of finding it a home hidden deep in the bushes in the garden of arcane delights. First I removed the feather and green ribbon with the Slytherin sticker. So now the lizardses and frogses have got another cozy little nest to snuggle in and Iz is happy knowing that her hat has had a decent 'burial' in Izzie's special sacred site.
Feels funny since I'm so used to wearing one now - especially in the summer. But I was not upset at all like I might have expected to be.

Iz is astonished to admit that she is actually enjoying reading "The Two Towers" The battle scenes were boring but Iz just loves Treebeard. I do have some very Entish tendencies. Just got up to the chapter "The Voice of Saruman" .Bugger the hobbits. Izzie is a pervy Istari fancier!
