izmeina: smiling serpent (zmeya)

Just spent the last hour or so fiddling and tweeking with the decorations when of course I should have been typing those nasty stinking auditing questionses.
What began as a quick tweek to fix one picture turned into a discovery that while tweeking code and stuff for the new Izzie online abode - I had inadvertently manage to make not only every single green button disapparate at the old place but every single page too! Izzie was not authorized to see anything on her own website.
Sure is a bummer having to do the editing first before sending stuff by ftp and then discovering it's not quite right and sending it all over again. Of course one cannot serve two masters faithfully at once and what works at gopages.net does definitely NOT work at the Min. But since they don't let you rename stuff over there, had to use the one version to do two things, send it over and then return it to the original state when finished. Finally got the idea of saving copies with different names for each place so that if anything goes wrong next time - will have records and not have to reinvent the wheel each time.

For understandable reasons that rather cute link to the picture of Bill Gates was not going to be allowed to work but what they have against swirly Escher piccies, Izzie does not know. After discovering that the problem was with two pics in particular and not the Izzie html (If a picture is considered not kosher - they show an advert if you try show it by itself in the webaddress )- resorted to the evil solution of using the original image sources with the whole Min address instead of trying to access the Izzie piccies over there. So far so good.
But of course - eventually those links will all die and I will have to zap the links leaving only the folder paths and hopefully find some piccies that will fit the blank spots and be acceptable to the strange screens of the gopage censors.
But we can't complain. It is FREE after all and the little orange carpet provided by the nasty insurance company is not too intrusive. Not like the jack in the box mob over at ghastly Geocities.
The other mob Internetplanet sent Iz a greetings letter but no stuff - just a spiel saying that in order to prevent unmanageable overload they ration out the new websites according to advertising revenue received - seemed sort of like the old LJ invite codes. Gopages on the other hand had the removals van available within one hour of requesting it. Most impressed indeed.
