Iz has just slithered in from the evening shift at St Salazars - mind you - some of the folks we got now - is getting more and more like St Mungo's closed ward every day.
Dolores wasn't there so we had a delightful evening.
Iz was peeved at first having to switch Wednesday morning shifts to Wednesday evenings because of a Goblin tutorial. The less subjects left, the less choice there is with finding suitable times.

But Wednesday evenings are really good. The regular staff are fun and the boss is usually gone by then and it's so so much less hectic than the morning. And anyway - Iz consoles herself with the thought -wouldn't have a Wednesday evening to myself anyway - if I wasn't at work would be at some goblins classes. But it does make one difference - cannot go to the Min computers after work so those nasty assignments that have to be typed - gotta be done on Friday, Saturday morning or Tuesday evenings. Anything not finished by then has got to be done Thursdays during the day because the class starts at 6pm that night.
Two subjects - "Auditing" and "Accounting concepts and issues" have the evil weekly assignments that are collected randomly 3 times during the semester. Iz spent so much time on the auditing stuff for Thursday which never got collected that week that I ended up doing the questions and chapter summaries for the other subject at 10.30 Friday morning and the class was at 11am! I didn't actually buy a copy of the text book - way way too expensive and the library has five in reserve - so Iz just reads it on Mondays and does those crazy quirky mind maps and then uses that as a basis for answering the questions at the last minute on Friday. Turns out she did collect this week. Unlike auditing - this stuff has to be done in one's own handwriting - typed stuff is not acceptable. In auditing it is exactly the other way around. Will be so interesting to see what sort of mark the last minute effort got. So so glad that I did decide to bother in the end.

Used to do so much lurking and typing and stuff on Wednesdays - as next day I have off - could stay at the Min till 1am and get the Night bus home.

Today got the results from last week's class presentation as well as those nasty weekly tests. Most happy indeed - got an 8.2 out of 10. Lucky the tutor rated each individual speaker and didn't just give a group mark. The silly bugger who just read off a bit of paper and obviously had done no research at all still managed to get a 7. Presentations scare the shit out of most folks but in comparison to the five hours of typing not to mention oodles of reading for the weekly auditing assignments that are worth only 5% IF they are collected - and they haven't been yet - presentations really are a pretty easy way to pick up points.
Cannot help but be amused how often that the word 'confident' appears in the comments for Izzie presentations. Even five years ago - the thought of speaking in public was enough to give Iz a terminal case of Jelly legs
Got 3.5/4 last week in the weekly test and this week got a 4/4 and was the only one to do so in the class.

Next big obstacle is the enormous auditing group project due in on 14 April -perfect timing to ruin the Izzie Easter. So how I managed to be munching on some very tasty blackbirds yesterday in LJ land - is just an utterly decadent indulgence. Have already managed to addict Andrie to the charms of a most evilly erudite Ravenclaw. Sistermagpie must be the Mollyringwraith of Potterfandom.
Iz still hasn't managed to read half the stuff about Snape's worst memory - especially the Neville bits that look utterly intriguing - LJ comment stacking and nesting slows down reading quite considerably.
But between the Magpie and Mr John Granger - Iz has been indulging in a lot of Potter nostalgia in the last few days. But we must not be tempted. Especially as we still got 3/4 of Return of the King to read. Looks like that will get put in the freezer - at least until the Izzie holidays in middle of May.
