A Goblin free moment
02/04/2004 10:37 pmIzzie has been such a good little goblin. Spent two whole hours working on that nasty stinking auditing assignment. Is not too bad once you get into the swing of things. In fact Iz is almost ashamed to admit she finds it interesting - well it would be if there wasnt' 10,000 things to be done and all by yesterday.
It's funny - being the suspiciousss serpent that I am - it sort of comes naturally -it's kind of like a detective story with numbers instead of dead bodies.
Just emailed the newest version off to the Izzie partner in crime. It sure is nice to know I got a copy kept in the sent file too safe in Cyberia. Iz does not trust h drive and because of tables and things - cannot store it in LJ.
But was just about to go crazy with the constant 'Windows has encountered a problem' pop up crap. Got so fed up with it appearing every two mins that I just pissed off and moved to another computer.
Was seriously thinking that some time in the next few weeks - between now and 15 April - Iz will have to stay here the whole night through to get all the stuff finished. Looks an ickle bit less likely this evening.
Already writtten out the grand plan for the next two weeks. Unfortnately the Izzie holidays from St Mungos' are in the middle of May. Planned that deliberately because most years we've had tons of stuff due at that time but this year of course they moved the goal posts.
Well at least I can relax with the worst of it out of the way - except of course the exams will be looming by then.
Already booked this Monday 3 weeks ago - for moon watching actually - but the extra time will come in handy for typing and stuff in the morning. Usually I potter over to the restricted section of the library to take notes for the chapter summaries and questions we have to submit every week. But since that class in on Fridays - she won't be collecting this week because it will be Good Friday.
It's quite easy getting by without actually having bought a copy of that particular text book. But trying to be a scrooge with the auditing book would have been near impossible. Takes up centuries as it is already having the damned thing without having to spend ages photocopying pages and pages of questionses.
This year Iz did not get the poor mousie student book grant so had to fork out my own silver sickles. Not nice at all.
The latest at the public speaking group - after last weeks laziness and consequent confusion as to which day of the week it was (Kept thinking it was Thursday when it was in fact Friday) Iz was not going to do it again - well the latest is that in two weeks time is once again the office bearer elections. Iz at last gets to give up the horrid job of treasurer. But in keeping with the theme we are also having our perennial favorite "Vote for me" where we have the hustings and heckling and motherhood and apple pie speeches. For some inexplicable reason - Izzie yet again gets to be one of the politicians. Iz really has no idea at all how she managed to be allocated as the representative for the Greens party. Strange really - why on earth they would ever give the Iz such a role. One of our more senior members represents "The Grey party" and the third one is the "One Nation" party.
Such a damned pity that Iz will not have the time to put on a real good show as there are two assignments due the Wednesday and Thursday of that week.
But at least it's something to ponder on at work like Iz did last year for the evil green website. That way we are not wasting valuable bean counting time.
So any suggestions for the mean lean and ever so green platform would be very welcome indeed.
