Chocolate Frogs and goblin beans

izmeinaIz has just returned from an evening slaving over a hot abacus. Just been thinking about what a wierd Easter it was like how it just didn't seem like Easter at all. And Iz got to thinking - it was all because of the nasty goblinses. Every single other Easter we have always had stuff due in a week or two before and then not until four or five weeks later. So there was never the awful sense of stuff hanging over one's head. But this year was different - two things due the very next days or so. The one wasn't so bad as Iz finished it on the Friday evening - yessss - Good Friday - naughty Iz and printed it out on the Saturday. But that is the good thing about individual assignments - you got total responsibility but also total control.
Managed tonight to churn out 380 of the 1000-1200 words required for the assigment due next Tuesday. Maybe the Iz will get it done before Sunday after all without having to do another all night stand at the Min.
Then once all that is done - got to start worrying about those horrid randomly collected assignments that need to be ready for Thursday evening and Friday morning. Would be just too damn awful to have spent five - six hours a week doing them every single week until now and then the one week I decide to take a chance she as sure as hell would collect them. Was so much better in the subjects when they collected them every week but they were only worth half a mark so at least if you didn't do them you knew you weren't risking a whole five marks or nothing at all. And since the Izzie has only five subjects left including these three and has an overall average of 72.5% - gotta grab every single mark going to keep above 70%. (70% plus gets special recognition on the degree certificates)
Been so agitated and irritable all week that when the Izzie holidays from work finally arrive in middle May will just fall into a heap from too much excitement.
Was supposed to go for a quick snoozies after work today until 3.30 or so and then off to a coffee shop before watching the sunset and spending the rest of the evening typing tedious goblin stuff. But did not wake up until just after 5pm - way way too late to go anywhere by that stage.
The Friday morning election thingie went well in spite of Iz not spending anywhere near the time she would have liked due to all those goblin activities getting in the way.
We got them well trained. Nowadays whenever Iz gets called to the floor to give a speech about anything - the evil Iz minions - there are three of them, do lots of nice snarling snakie hissssssssseses.
In these 'Vote for me' speeches, heckling is not only allowed but compulsory but it's amazing what tossing out the contents of a large bag of Freddo chocolate frogs can do to silence the whingers and moaners who were all kept busy trying to grab as many as possible. And it wasn't just choccie freebies. Iz had lots of tasty green things - including rosemary twigs (Subliminal advertizing)
The critic asked at the end how many folks got only one green peppermint leaf (Iz went around with a bag of them during the other speeches) and he says that he was given FOUR! An obvious attempt to influence the critic. Needless to say, bribery and trickery won the day. They always do. Never mind the lack of policies.
Must be off slinking to the lair. We got a bottlie to drink under the stars.
PS During the Izzie lurks in Secret Diary Land - found the cutest cartoon of a very very nasty fairy story Once upon a time....
