Izzie has been lurking and pottering in Cyberia and perfecting the art of procrastination when she should have been busy typing her auditing assignments or at least finishing off the second part of that book list.
But since there is no longer the dreaded threat of random collection for any of the assigmnents - Iz has just not displayed the usual level of dedication and only half finished one of them. But there is a damned good chance that precisely that stuff will be on the exam.

It was a glorious sunny day and Iz visited 3 of her favorite sacred sites. Had lots of coffees and very dark choccies. But was a bad bad goblin and have so far not been using the first week free from work to be doing all that extra study as was the original intention in the first place.
Tomorrow will be time for that - simply because the Iz has not much choice. The sack of silver sickles from the day job arrives in the bank some time around 7pm so Iz just has to find some cheap amusements or else read boring goblin porn.

The first stop of the day was the "Secret Garden Cafe' which is now exactly 2 years under its new owner. Iz wished them a happy birthday when ordering her coffee and they looked a bit dazed and confused. Iz added - but it's exactly two years ago that you opened this place - on Saturday 25 May 2002 - I was one of the first customers in the door.
Oh yesss. And so it is - or something to that effect. Would you believe it - they gave Iz her coffee for free for reminding them.
After buying a second coffee, reading the papers and squiggling a little in the Izzie green book, it was time to move on to the next destination.

It was just so gorgeous to visit St Brutus and sit in the sunshine under the plane trees with a cup of coffee, a large bar of very very dark and most bitterly black chocolate and a copy of "Prisoner of Azkaban"
Been keeping away from the Potter gossip but the film snippets Izzie has heard about sound really really good. Looks like it just might be a schmalz free zone. Anyway Izzie has an inbuilt bias towards Mexicans, Canadians and Scotts. So that's two out of three. Or is the Great White Witch really English or Welsh? Iz is not quite so sure.
Got so used to the Potter movies coming out in November - it still does not seem quite real that it's only a matter of weeks away. And Iz does not even have a Dementor cloak to wear to the opening night. Shame.

Next week there is a heritage festival and there is all sorts of walks, tours and thingies of St Brutus. The first walking tour on Sunday is conducted by the architect involved in the restoration of this gorgeous place and the following week there is two. The one Iz would really love to go to - about the years when St B was used as a lunatic asylum is unfortunately on at 10 in the morning when we have nasty goblin business with Boring Professor Bill "Binns" Willisee. The afternoon talk is about the time the place was used as an old women's home and then a barracks for US soldiers during the second world war. Needless to say - no money was ever spent on the place or its inmates until the Americans arrived.
After they left, once again it was let fall into rack and ruin and was pretty much fit for nothing but the bulldozers. But some very civic minded citizens with heightened aesthetic sensibilities campaigned to save the place. They ran a rescue mission to restore the buildings and to convert the old asylum into a museum and arts centre and finally achieved their goal back in 1973. Iz never even knew the place existed until accidently finding it on her wanderings way back in early 2001. But she has been there so often since that they'll soon be charging her rent.
