Iz got up bright and early for today's gossip group session. One of the members who knows the Izzie's evil ways comments "Well at least if one of the rostered speakers doesn't turn up, we can always have an impromptu film review"
Yesssss. One week after everyone else, the Muggles in the Land of the Rainbow Serpent get to see "Prisoner of Azkaban" and at the last minute they decided that we didn't have to bring mummy along after all and changed the rating from MA15 to PG.
One of the regulars decided that she too wanted to see this movie. Now this was just the excuse that the Iz needed to go again after already having seen it yesterday.
But what was so so cute was to go to the local cafe after the meeting and pick up the paper only to be greeted with photos of nine men and the caption "The Great Escape!" Yesss. Nine highly dangerous top security prisoners had escaped. Not from Azkaban but the Supreme Court. But that didn't stop Iz and her Gollumish friend from spotting the Sirius Black lookalike.
(He turned out to be the one of the five who have since been caught)
Let's see if the cinemas take advantage of such a perfect opportunity for a bit of shameless promotion!

The first showing was at 10am. We both figured this was a good time as neither of us are particularly fond of having our souls sapped by baby Dementors squealing and wailing. What interested Iz especially is that my friend Alex has seen the first two Potter movies which she liked enough to want to see the third but not enough to have ever read any of the books. So Iz was very curious to see how difficult it would be to follow and how a newbie would see the film compared to a veteran who has read that particular book (or listened to the audio version) around 6-7 times.

She just absolutely adored it and said it was infinitely better than the first two. She particularly drooled over the soundtrack.
Iz was amused. It is a strange and most peculiar thing indeed. It adds, invents and deletes things to a far greater extent than the other two but Iz still felt that in spite of - or maybe because of this, it was far truer to the spirit of the book than the other two. Even though two of the favorite Izzie scenes were missing (Malfoy goes Demented and "This has something to do with POTTER) the Iz did not mind at all at all.
What really amazed the Iz however was that Lupin who I thought from the pictures was a sleazy smirking slimeball turned out to be surprisingly cute. Iz feels so so bad now for having said such nasty things about him based purely on one picture. Just goes to show - context is everything.

Today there was only about 15 people at the cinema. I guess 10am is pretty early. Yesterday was lots and lots. But that was still early - around 1pm or so. But what delighted the Iz was to see two fellow Slythies wearing medieval kind of dresses - green of course. One had serpent pendant earrings and the same silver serpent ornaments as ornaments on the arms of her dress which was dark green with a light green slashed kind of effect. Sort of like those backpacks that have laces but using these brooch thingies to join the outside fabric together.
Iz had only a boring green skirt, blouse and jacket with green shoes to match but the obligatory serpent ring and green felt hat with the Slythie sticker. Oh it's not easy being green.
Iz is so so hoping that they have an extra long extended version for Snape lovers. It would have been so so nice to have been able to go to a proper dress up showing with die hard Potterholics. But maybe there will be a third time - AFTER the nasty stinking goblin examses! Iz could very very easily be tempted.

Oh and Iz just adored those Dementors. Sort of like leafy sea dragons with attitude!

very spooky creatures that float around looking very ethereal and elegant
