Extremely peeeeeved
30/06/2004 11:31 pmIzzie is just getting so totally and absolutely pissed off with Live Journal. It's getting to the stage that she just couldn't be bothered any more. What is so damned annoying - why is it precisely when Iz has both the time and inspiration and lots of interesting things are happening that the stupid thing is on an eternal go slow? Earlier today the Iz had about 90 minutes at the Ministry to potter around and check up on the latest gossip. Wanted to post about a most fascinating program on the radio today about the war in Iraq. It is also going to be made into a movie called "The Soundtrack of War" This evening was also an interviewer with the maker of a new movie called "The Control Room" about Al Jazeera and the American media centre in Qatar which was HQ for the embedded journalists and stuff.
But of course - Lj was no where to be found. Nothing but a blank screen where the goat should have been. Google mail was also down but at least there was Yahoo mail still online so Iz was still able to read the latest comments to yesterday's posts. But was not game to reply to them in case they ended up in the black hole since the same thing happened last week when replying by email
And of course since Iz does not trust this computer, is saving every couple of paragraphs and doing the entry in instalments and that too is taking all day. Was so so looking forward to writing a big long juicy comment in reply to Pruffie about "Goodbye Lenin" - about die hard ideologues who never let reality get in the way of a useless theory. We have rather a lot of those sort of folks in the White House lately.
So sorry - will yet again not be doing much commenting or posting or anything in livejournal when it takes five minutes to get from one page to the next. It just gets the Iz too cranky and pissed off and even more irritable than she is already.

Date: 2004-07-01 01:05 am (UTC)Looks like I've missed the new bit about Harry's parents. The new book's title sounds weird... like something from bad fanfiction ! Hopefully the book itself will be better :)
Re: Tech Malfunctions and HP News
But at least they had the manners to apologize today and go way beyond the call of duty in compensating irritated bloggers. Iz admires them for that. As many folks commented - can you imagine the cable tv companies or ISP's doing that when you have big black chunks of no service.
No one is perfect but it takes a lot of guts to come out and admit it. Most rare and refreshing indeed.
