izmeinaIzzie has been slinking and lurking in Cyberia and found the cutest creatures. Pictures of cats and computers can conjure images of Izzie's favorite feline.Crazy Cats
Looking at her latest interest list - Iz just could not resist a quick visit to the Cabaret and got all nostalgic about a concert I went to once. The main attraction was a crowd called The Sands Family. The Iz had corrupted her original fairygodmother and friends to the insidious influence of these folks and in turn corrupted their friends, neighbours and family and we ended up going to the concert in a minibus with 14 of us.
Iz never brought a bigger than usual bag of silver sickles (deutschmarks actually) because she has most of their stuff on tape or record or whatever anyway. And boy did she live to regret it because the support act that Iz just assumed would be some insufferably twee local German folk group with accordions and lederhosen actually turned out to be a group of 3 - two musicians and one lead singer who was what you might call a veritable vampire queen. They actually did lots of satire and cabaret style songs. The group was called Wacholder and Iz thinks that they came from some place east of the border (Maybe even Leipzig)
It was quite funny actually because she was almost exactly what Izzie had imagined the Celestial Serpent (Lisa Gerrard) to look and act like and the real Lisa who Iz had the good fortune to see live in the following month did not look remotely gothic at all. But at least the voice was as angelic as ever. In spite of hearing Lisa live with Izzies own ears, still cannot believe that a human being can really sing like that.
Wacholder was such a silly name for that Cabaret group. Izzie came across an alternative in LJ yesterday that would have been just perfect "Glitzkrieg"!
