Serpent munchies

izmeinaIzzie should be at home curled up in her serpent basket ready to get up bright and early for that infinitely exciting managerial accounting lecture tomorrow at 8.30am. Last week just turned over and went back for another snooze. Listening to those pompous gits squawking and smirking at us wannabee goblins was not a most exciting prospect. But tomorrow they may give us some tidbits about that stupid assignment and anyway, not turning up to lectures is a bad bad habit.
Before Iz forgets, she is pretty peeved and not amused at all to discover that some one has been practising Memory charms over in Secret Diary land and have done a damned good job of obliviating all of the contents of the Izzie online Pensieve - or at least the index anyway. Especially annoying as nearly all of the Izzie memories consist of other people's entries which makes it almost impossible to reconstruct. Anyone else having the same problem? Izzie's favorite conspiracy theorists have also been affected too. Not too long ago all the memories except one's own were inaccessible. Let's just hope that this too is just a similar sort of hiccup. Iz also wants to know which is the best lj community to visit to get updates on such. Seems no mentions of it at all over at lj_support. (Wonders if that LJ archive thingie also preserves memories)
Lots and lots of interesting things have been happening in Izzieland but been way way too busy with green coffee beans to have time to mention any of them at all.
The big event of the week is Petunia's birthday this Saturday.
Was over there on Sunday evening and it was so so strange slinking off to beddie bies at the ungodly hour of 11pm.
Iz brought over some red wine and cheese and a big crusty baguette to make garlic bread with. The ma complained that Iz was a mean and nasty scrooge with the garlic. Three days later, Izzie is still a stink bomb and the ma had the nerve to say that Iz should be a bit more generous with those evil cloves. Now after seeing that tasty recipe online that Iz mentioned recently, if that is not just the perfect excuse for a GARLIC PARTY, then Iz doesn't know what would be.
So the Soup of Doom is on the menu along with garlic bread on steroids. Iz will keep it a bit simple and not indulge in the usual habit of making far too much stuff.
Some sort of layered potatoes thing with lots of vegies, cheese and Garlic sauce will probably be for the mains. Izzie is wondering which serpents out there can think of something evil involving potatoes and garlic or some magic ingredient to add a wicked twist to garlic bread. Preferably not involving chilies.
So tomorrow we got to go shopping to get some real peppery cold pressed olive oil. Also will get some more fistfuls of that wonderful purple organic locally grown garlic from that Greek grocery shop with all the wierd stuff. Everyone else only seems to have the infinitely cheaper but rubbish Chinese stuff these days.
Might even be tempted to make some pesto on Friday but will have to use macadamia nuts since pine nuts have become so ridiculously expensive. For the first time in seven years since she planted it, the Izzie macadamia tree in the back garden has finally got flowers on it. So things are looking up. Pity the lime tree would not get its act together. But we cannot complain, the orange tree is simply dripping with juicy fruits.
It's time for the Iz to go slinking off to the Oracle in search of nasty garlic recipes.
