Sipping and slurping

It's just one of those days in Izzieland. Lazy serpent was late to bed last night. Was lurking in the nasty netcafe until 2 in the morning. Bad bad Iz. Then was listening to a repeat of a talk show on the fascinating subject of national security. A certain Lying Rodent thinks that pre-emptive strikes against one's enemies are not only justified but anyone who does not think so (ie the leader of the opposition) - is a gutless spineless wimp
Oh yesss. Will be so so glad to finally get this evil Goblin green beans assignment out of the way so that the Iz can finally get around to that Rodent Rant that has been brewing for the last four weeks or so.
Still haven't managed to post anything about the garlic gorging session on Saturday either. Been so busy doing that assignment that the Secret Izzie Diary has been rather ignored.
So woke up with the sun shining brightly in the windows at 7.30 am but still felt a bit snoozy. So the lazy serpent stayed snoozing until 12ish. Must get out of these bad bad holiday habits. Today of course is the Spring Equinox - well for Rainbow serpents it is anyway. It's a different matter up north. So just the excuse for a sunset picnic at the beach. Iz packed up some cheese and those Konigsbrod wafers. We saves the good stuff for full moons, solstices and equinoxes and any other occasion that involves celebrating the beginning of a new minute ;)
So - the only thing left to get was the bottlie. Last Friday at that wine tasting, bought an Ingoldby 2002 Shiraz as a prezzie for Petunia along with some Cockroach Clusters and a bottle of extra virgin olive oil.
We had that on Sunday night at her place along with another 2002 Shiraz from Margaret River (Brookland Valley). Izzie is prejudiced and automatically assumes that the MR stuff will be rubbish. Both of these wines were bought on Special (Us Dursleys are scrooges at heart) Iz paid 13 silver sickles for a wine that usually costs 19 and the ma paid 17 for a wine that probably costs 20. Well. We did the taste test and while the Ingoldby was luscious, sweet but not sickly and definitely a delicious inkpot, the muck from Margaret River was wishy washy and watery. We have tasted plenty of reds at half the price that were better.
Well the long and the short of it was that this was just the excuse that the Iz needed to get another Ingoldby for today.
Nice weather, nice munchies, no work and a bottle of wine. What more could a serpent want? Iz was certainly not expecting any rain on her parade but that's exactly what she got. The Dragon Breath has now gotten infinitely worse. So bad in fact that the Iz never did open the wine to toast to the sunset. It's a yukky sour and bitter taste(Not the wine -but Izzie's forked tongue). Iz cannot quite work out - is it the taste of a garlic overdose or the aftertaste of a very nasty potion called Roxythromycin. All she knows is that it is utterly vile. Such an appalling taste must surely be accompanied by the ultimate Dragon's breath. So Iz has to stay away from other folks or get herself copious quantities of clove or cinammon chewing gum. Something really strong but pleasant smelling. And going to the doctor may end up on the agenda but it was the last visit that caused all this trouble in the first place.
