The Friday Late Night Lurk

Izzie has at last handed in that evil goblin assignment. So that leaves two more to go for Cornelius's class which should not be too difficult at all.
It's just so so annoying. It was a gorgeous gloriously sunny day. Perfect weather for pottering in St Brutus or at the beach or anywhere but the Min. If Iz had been a bit more organized and had some silver sickles when she needed them, could have printed out the damned thing last night and popped it into the office before lunch time today. Izzie always likes it when some one is in the office when she hands stuff in. Firstly so she can get it date stamped - just to be safe and also - in the past, assignments have been known to mysteriously disapparate and resurface with different names on them. One of our tutors went so far as to recommend inserting one's student ID as a footer on every page along with the page number. In that way, sneaks and thieves have it so much harder to steal stuff - unless of course you were silly enough to leave floppies lying around and stuff.
These days - they have changed the practise of putting stuff in tutor's boxes - some of which are part time tutors and on a different floor. Now all major assignments go into boxes right near the office desk so that they can keep their beady eyes on them.
So after all that, the Iz is utterly exhausted and that stinking slimy sore throat is at it again. Will be back in House Elf bondage tomorrow. Let's just hope it does not make it worse. Problem is that if you go to a doctor - they all say the same thing - can't get you onto antibiotics quick enough. Izzie has bought some sage today so will see if that helps. But it is the dried stuff which is never as good as the real thing.
Aunt Marge arrived on Thursday. The pa is ever so excited and even more manic than usual. It's about 20 years now since the Iz seen her. Not in any great hurry to hop over. Will be there on Sunday anyway after work. All that side of the family are the sorts of people Iz would describe as honorary Aryans. They have an absolutely inflated sense of their own importance and cannot stand the thought that some one some where just might be having fun.
It is so so strange to sit in front of the screen and not feel guilty for procrastinating. Iz of course should already get started on the next stuff which is due in on 21st October and 11 November. Then of course is this minor issue of exams. After that the Izzie will be in a tizzy as that will be the end of her 'unlimited' online access. After November it will be nasty netcafes only and no possibilities to save stuff or even download attachments from email.
Seen a guy with a laptop the other day and a big grey blob on the cover that looked quite cool. Iz had never even considered the possibility of getting an Apple laptop. The picture quality is certainly better. Iz noticed that comparing the Ministry printers. They have 3 Macs for the geek minority and the picture quality is simply so much crisper and crunchier. Mind you that was 2 years ago. Maybe the PCs have caught up since.
