izmeinaWith some sadness and nostalgia Izzie says goodbye to the bestest greenest, most magical and wickedly wonderful year ever. Especially so wonderful as 2001 was probably the worst ever.
2002 was the year I met the amazing magical creatures of Azkaban, Ron Hubbard's broom cupboard and the dungeons of D'land.
2002 was the year where I wrote on the little blank square of January 1 -my official motto and mantra for the year.
"It is our choices... that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
Little did Izzie know what insidious powers lurked within those words. Most magical they were indeed.
It did not seem to be a good omen at the beginning - to awaken on a bright sunny Wednesday morning, freezing and shivering and shaking from yet another nightmare. This time Izzie woke up just in time to escape the kiss of a cold clammy Dementor. It turned out to be for the last time. But more about that on 2 Jan when Izzie will be celebrating her little green party.
Today she will be off to the beach to say goodbye to the last sunset of the year but not before dropping in to St Brutus for another peek at the Pensieve and a last squiggle in her little green book.
We have our bread, wine and cheese.
So here's a toast to Wormtail - my most precious but treacherous rat.
