Izzie spent this morning pottering around the garden and moving various bits of things from A to B. Vernon and Petunia were lurking around the Lair last week when the Izzie was at work and happened to get chatting with the Izzie neighbour. Turns out that she wants a new fence because the one between us is kind of shabby and bitty. But unlike the Gryffindor bore next door on the other side, this one seems quite kosher because she has actually spent a lot doing up her place and is not a cheapskate who wants to get something for nothing and jilt the Izzie like that other squawking bitch.
So, the Iz is happy to pay half. Iz got chatting to her today and we'll be making arrangements tomorrow morning. But in any case, we need to clear about a metre from each side of the fence so that meant moving the mango and acacia, a baby grapevine and lots of sunflowers.
The ma and pa came over on Saturday to help and today the Iz was removing the soil from the last remaining flowerbed near the barbecue.

Due to extended absences from Cyberia, never did mention that Izzie has four whole days off this week starting today. So lurking locally was a luxury we could indulge in - aside from the fact - the whole point of requesting today off was the Goblin Graduation Ceremony.

So, the Iz did not leave the house until 2pm when she paid a quick catch up visit to the nasty net cafe to get her Cheap Tuesday online top up and then slinked over to the Kirribili Cafe to catch up with the papers and stuff and to look for a certain funeral notice. More about that later. The Grim Reaper has grabbed Izzie's favorite grandma from the Pumpkin Patch. Now all the gorgeous ones are gone and we'll probably get another monster to take her place.

After a coffee and choccies, next stop was the university book shop just around the corner. The curiosity is just killing the Izzie. Was so so hoping to be in possession of the Precioussss tomorrow afteroon but the truck from Sydney leaves today and will not arrive in distant Dursleyville until some time Friday which Izzie sure hopes is not after 4pm. The shop closes that time on Fridays, is not open weekends and Izzie will be working that damned 8-5.30 shift on Monday. Waaaay too long to wait.

The Graduation ceremony officially began around 6.45pm. Not a good start when after the utterly awful Aussie national anthem they have some singer perform the even more appallingly schmalzy load of sentimental slush "Hero" One of those Mariah Carey lovie dovie sorts of things that the Izzie just HATES with a vengeance. Up there with "We are the World" (and "One Moment in time")
But it was a gorgeous crisp and crunch sunny day. Most pleasant indeed and nothing like the stinking sizzling 42 degrees (celsius) we had last Tuesday.
If Izzie was choosing a theme song it would be something like the blood curdling utterly spooky "Song of Sophia" by Lisa Gerrard (Izzie's favorite singer ever)

The place was packed with parents drooling over their little darlings - many who had come from Indonesia and Malaysia especially for this occasion. Where the Iz was sitting, just outside the cafe, the security guards come by and ask to see people's invitations. Anyone who hasn't got one is requested to leave. Izzie got one of those mass produced letters of congratulations from the head of the school of Accounting and shows it to him saying " I don't actually have an invitation but I guess this will be good enough" He looks at it with puzzlement and calls over his buddy who figures that this is an acceptable substitute. They were probably thinking what kind of wierd creature turns up to their own graduation but sits on the sidelines instead of being in the middle of all the action. Yessss. And the Izzie friendses are probably wondering exactly the same thing.
But it's now just gone 10pm. Time to go home and listen to Late Night Live, drink pink champagne and then come back around 11is hoping that the squealing cyberterrorists haven't taken over the joint with their squeaking and squawking.

Many many congratulations on graduating and I'm sorry to hear about your favourite grandmother's death.

I am a little curious, did you not like the version of the Australian Anthem performed at your graduation, or do you not like the Australian national anthem? I'm also assuming that by "Heroes" you didn't mean the Bowie song. (Blimey, that's a lot of questions for Izzie, sorry)

As for asking about becoming an accountancy type rich bitch (if only, since we got back from the states, I've been the only one in employment, albeit a contract one that does pay more than the average UK salary, oh okay, we're reasonably well off, it just doesn't feel that way, right now), feel free. Please use: tanuja_gwlad @ yahoo.com (the spaces in theory are supposed to confuse the nasty spam-bots).

Oh..not the David Bowie song at all. Izzie loves that one. It's one of those schmalzy American things - Iz keeps mixing it up with the silly Olympics thing from years ago "One moment in time" which is equally awful.

Oh and the Grandma's. Tanuja probably hasn't been lurking long enough in the Izzie secret diary to know that the real (ancestral) Izzie grandmas are long dead - one was nasty and one was nice. The Izzie day job - until put an end to the procrastinating and getting a proper goblin job is in a nursing home. There is about forty residents and every now and again we get an absolute angel who just about everyone utterly adores. Izzie's special bunch she calls the Cuddly Pumpkins - of which there was four and Tessie was the last surviving member of this gorgeous group.
In spite of the fact she had dementia, that did not stop her radiating a most gorgeous glow and brightening up the day of anyone who even glanced at her utter gorgeousness. It was simply impossible to even to take a peek at this lady without wanting to give her the biggest squishiest cuddles.

Izzie does not like to use the Cruciatus Curse on nice friendly goblinses but since you are a most curious creature - Here is the "Hero" (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/m/mariah-carey/88486.html) in all its oozy goozie excruciating awfulness

PS - Izzie utterly despises Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and all their warbling ilk.
