Izzie is lurking in Angel's Cafe getting our weekly fix of podcasts. Will soon be pottering off for some feral food at the Juicy Beetroot Cafe.

The Izzie has been kept busy warding off the advances of a dozen amorous dementors. But aside from that, the big event this week - Izzie plays hostess with the mostess. Was invited to dinner the other week by the local potions master and his mistress (friends of the ma and pa) and the Izzie is returning the compliment tomorrow night. So, will have to get those cauldrons bubbling and the fires stoked starting this evening so that we have lots of nice nibblies for tomorrow night. Will be doing the choccies and sweets this evening as well as potato salad.
Will need to stock up on more Snapes Great Grape Party Potion. Those very dark and delicious bottles of Maglieri Shiraz - all 10 of them are nearly all gone. Only two left.
We also have the odd bottle of butterbeer in the fridge. Considering making a chocolate concoction involving Ginger Newts drowned in whiskey and smothered in chocolate.

So today and tomorrow, the Izzie will have to get the various veggies required. Did make cauliflower and almond soup on Monday as a test run but decided that it is simply too much bother so will skip the soup and have dips instead.
One thing the Iz has discovered - making one's own bread scores lots of brownie points when cooking for friends.

Na ja. Got our fix of feral food, returned to St Brutus and now at the Dome Cafe on the Cappucino strip. Unlike Dreary Dursleyville - the nice folks in the Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Bureau in Fremantle are understanding of the needs of Web wizards and witches and provide free wireless access along along the main coffee strip. Must write them a letter of appreciation
The Iz spent about 90 mins at St Brutus - some of it reading a certain potions book - second time round got to the end of the most interesting Christmas festivities at the Weasleys. Then spent time squiggling in the little green book. Such a pity the place closes at five - seemed to be getting somewhere with offloading all those tormented thoughts into that most handy little pensieve. Would have made more sense to use the Preciousss but it's very hard to see the screen when the sun is still shining and we do not want to waste preciousss sunlight.

Passed by a second hand bookstore that also does imports and stuff and got our greedy paws on some Potter audio books. Supposedly warehouse damaged - look OK to the Izzie - they are publisher returns or something like that - all Iz knows is that they were $$14.95 each - the Jim Dale versions. Unfortunately -boring old fashioned cassettes. CDs are so so much more convenient and Podfriendly. Well - will be interesting to compare Jim Dale to the insufferably posh and pompous Stephen Fry that Iz got from the local library many moons ago and only got to hear half due to exams, study and stuff and the CDs getting recalled for another user request.
So -got books 2, 4 and 5 on cassette - all $$14.95 each. The covers are very very pretty. Lets' hope the contents are just as good.

So, hoping to return later with the latest in the sad saga of Dolores and the house elf rebellion. The Izzie has put in for annual leave on the next unwritten roster starting 17th August. Not sure if it will be approved - will keep applying with new dates until it is. Seems to that Izzie is not the only one thinking along such lines.
Today must have been the first day in a long long time where the Iz has not been totally neurotic and psychotic and totally at the end of her tether and unable to invoke the usual inner creatures to keep the dementors from the door. Our decision has been half made - we need to commit. Truly, the search for security is the root of all evil.
